Federer to retire in a few years

"A few years" is a subjective statement. It can't be taken seriously in that sense, as he was talking about something entirely different during an interview. Federer didn't say "I will retire at the 2017 Australian Open"; instead he said "when I retire in a few years". I've noticed you try to twist words, guy, and it actually isn't that funny.

Sureshs, what will you miss most?

1. Federer himself as an active ATP member. No longer will he be a lamb to the bull's slaughter - at least in GS terms.

or

2. Being able to criticize him, as much. Especially his back hand.

?

That was mind-blowing! I had no recollection of those threads. But I suspect some were supposed to be parodies of other threads started around the same time.

What's this thread then?

A "few" could mean 3 or it could mean 5. Surely it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Federer retiring by 36.

You're missing the point. When Fed retires is a moot point. What this thread is about is how his haters want him gone, and have been hoping so for many years as zagor ably demonstrated.

They've been saying his backhand sucks, his competition was weak, he would never win another GS, never get back to number 1. All this since 2008.

Nothing has been more satisfying than how Roger proved these haters wrong time and again.

To be honest this is a pointless thread. I mean EVERYONE knows Fed will retire in a 'few' years, what's the definition of 'few'? 'Few' usually means at least 3, could be 4 after that 2016 Olympics, could be up to something like 7.

Can the mods sticky this thread? I mean, this pure gold from suresh. The man deserves recognition for his consistency - the GOAT of trolling.

Breaking news:

"I will eventually die and, obviously, stop playing tennis altogether - R. Federer"

We will all eventually die and, obviously, never watch Federer play tennis or discuss whether or not he is the GOAT ever again!
