Federer in 2. But I've predicted almost every single match of this WTF wrong so far :) So.... congratulations in advance, Robin.

Well considering how one more match ended up sucking. I hope it's good.

LOL  ..... Robin hasn't been quite so dominant in his wins as Roger has this YEC ..... I'll feel sorry for Robin if he loses for a fifteenth time tho ...... has there ever been such an uneven head-to-head?

Soderling will go down easy and fast in this one. Havent people figured it out by now, Federer is an awful matchup for Soderling on anything but clay, and even on clay he is unless Soderling is in god mode (eg- French Open this year). Federer is also playing much better than Soderling here, their matches so far make that pretty clear especialy vs Murray. Soderling doesnt have a chance unless Roger decides to tank to increase the chances of Murray being eliminated.

Correction to OP

Perhaps it was an exhibition(?), but I just noticed that the first time Robin actually beat Roger was in UAE in 2009 at a thing called Capitala World Tennis Championship. They met in the semifinal, and Robin beat Roger 6-7 7-6 6-2, lost to Rafa in the final 76, 75

of course, that means that Robin's win at the French Open was his second win over Roger, and if he were to win tomorrow, that would be his third time, not second :)

Yo dawg, I heard you like Soderling, so I put a robin in your robin so you can grunt while you grunt. :)

Soderling does not have much chance, the only factor as someone said is, if Federer decided to tank to try and increase to chance of Murray going out, given that this match is tough to call

That was an exo :) I watched that match on Tv great performance still though but doesnt count in the ATP records :)

Federer has to lose the match badly, winning only 5 or 6 games to really increase the chances of Murray going out, and winning only 4 games would put him in danger of being eliminated himself, so I dont even see that scenario as likely. If Soderling had beaten Ferrer more badly or played Murray closer then maybe.

I dont see Ferrer taking a set off Murray although I guess it isnt impossible.

Federer also would not want to play Nadal in the semis I dont think.

This is gonna be a blowout, the way Federer's been playing.

So....Soderling 6-2 6-0

Great. The Roger and Rafa matches are at 2 pm, so we guys in Asia can see them !

Should be a tough match. Close, whether 2 or 3 sets.

7-5's and 7-6's. Can;t predict a winner.

6-0's and 70-68's. Can;t predict a winner.
mandy's ava. shame on you, serendy. :D
Federer will do his best to qualify Murray, given Murray would most likely play Nadal in the semis...

what is the scenario ??

If Fed wins against Sod, then he does not play Nadal.
OR
If Fed loses to Sod, then Murray is out ??

Is it just me or does that picture of sod look like a photoshop or something? O_O Like two players fused at the abdomen...what? :O

On topic, when does the match start? Around 6 a.m. PST? :(

Yeah I am sure he knows Murray is more likely to take out Nadal than he himself is at this point. And he would much rather have the possability of playing Murray in the final then facing Nadal. And last year when some thought he manipulated the end of his final RR match (not saying he did but some felt that) to eliminate Murray it backfired on him anyway so what is the point.

Can anyone help out with the qualifying thing? Where do they stand?

edit: nvm here they are

thanks !

here are my favorite scenari :
Federer defeats Soderling in 2 sets + Ferrer defeats Murray in 2 sets - then Federer qualifies as Group Winner; Ferrer, Murray, Soderling tied with a 1-2 record and 2-4 in Sets. Final Spot determined by % of Games Won.
(with murray eliminated by % of games won, of course, as last year) :)
Berdych defeats Nadal in 2 sets and Djokovic defeats Roddick in 2 sets = Djokovic Wins Group and Berdych Qualifies 2nd.

To the people saying 'Roger might tank to put Murray out'.

Roger needs 7 games to gaurantee his place in the semis. If he loses 3 and 3 or worse to Robin, and Murray beats Ferrer 3 and 3 then Roger is Audi.

There is nothing that Fed can do to influence the Murray match that doesn't put his own qualification at risk.

I think it is a lame theory from last year anyway. Federer just lost to Del Potro since DP is a tough opponent for him outside of grass when he is firing like he was last year, and since Federer had a lapse at the end of the match to lose. That is it.

how did it backfire on him ?

I hope Fed pwns Soderling to badly that everyone having him in his avatar will have a virus on their PC.

*runs and hides*

But Đoković may run into lipstick or eyeliner problems against Roddick. Did you consider that ????
you're right, i can't rule this option out, unfortunately... but i can still hope it doesn't happen !
he should change of sponsor... with l'oreal or maybeline, he would have a better equipment and would probably avoid such problems.

Federer can barely motivate himself to win masters finals. I can't see him winning this with so little on the line and Soderling needing to win. I'd be surprised if he can even pull himself out of bed this morning.

I spoke to tour officials earlier on a conference call and they said there are low concentrations of Sodtards at the O2 today.
