they showed the stats for a split second before they went to commercial ... so, I missed them :(

poor robin losing like that ... hoping it would go out ... pffffft

I missed it, did the ball that hit the netcord fall on Fed's side or sodas?

Do you mean on set point? It didn't hit the net, Sod let a ball go cause he thought it was going out, even though he could have easily volleyed it to win the point. And that was set point.

The point before that though, it hit the net, and landed out, I think?

Roger's side.

Then Sod was at the net at 6-5* in place to put away any ball from Federer pushed in the corner, he left it thinking it was out. Set Federer.

Fed's if you mean the one in the tb?

Robin saved one sp to get back to 5-6, then left a floated backhand that ended up dropping about 4 feet in ><

Ya I meant the one before set point. I thought the netcord was being a ******* again. lol. Dumb move by soderling on setpoint. thanks guys!

it should be in fed's best interest to a) tank to kick muzza out or b) conserve energy and breadstick soderling

As much as I want Fed to win, I would like Sod to win a set here if it increases his chances of going through. The way he lost the first one was a little unfortunate.

Or declines even more...

for some reason I don't think that would happen, he knows the next 2 years are his last chance to take the NO 1 ranking back and bag a few slams. Both of these objectives are really important. Now that the kids have somewhat grown up and he has added paul annacone to his team, his game will improve.

Frankly I can't see him not winning a slam in 2011. I think he will win at least 2.

I am liking Federer's game in WTF. He seems to be thinking clearly and his shot selection is getting back to were it was. I think Annacone has alot to do with that.

agreed ... tho I was hoping soderling might win in 3, the way things are looking, I'd be happy if he took a set! :)

That's a pretty bold prediction. Being a family man means he now has additional responsibilities. It's not only tennis.Plus he isn't getting any younger. That together might have an impact on his focus even if he stays fine physically(which is never a given).Even in this indoor season we've seen Roger having problems with keeping focus throughout the week.

He's got a mountain to climb to take back the #1 ranking. He's also defending his 2k points at the AO.

After the AO Federer has basically not much to defend except cincy while Nadal has to defend 3 slams plus the whole clay court season. 2010 was an exception for Nadal with a cakewalk draw at the US open and Djokovic and Murray and other top players not playing that well.

Remember next year, Delpo (Nadal's daddy) will be back. he will surely have something to say about Rafa taking his US open crown without him being there.

This is Federer's best chance of taking NO 1 ranking back as he doesn't have to defend many points while all the pressure is on Rafa.
