If they put Berdych and Blake on ash at night Berdych may give in to the crowd, he is kind of unstable psychologically.

Blake will be ripped apart. But if Fed lapse and and Blake plays his best it'll probably be a 7-6 7-5 7-6 straight set win for Federer

This is a really dumb question. They have played 4 times and Roger has never lost a set. Roger in straight sets...duh!

Berdych has beaten Federer before, so it can't be as funny as you think.

Look at their matches this year and tell me that again. As for Berdych's win over Federer-it was at the Olympics, which for a tennis player is akin to beating somebody on Arthur Ashe Kids Day. On top of that Federer was overplayed, barely able to move, played horrendous, and still had match points.

Blake is playing well. His return of serve is killing Berdych. If Blake can play like he played Agassi in the first 2 sets at USO last year, he will give Federer problems. I hope Blake wins the USO this year.

Blake hasnt played all that well, Berdych has been awful.I do think that if Roge doesnt quiet the crowd early, he will be in big trouble!!!!!He needs to bring his A game.

Blake might as well just pull out and save himself the humiliation. At least it wont go down as a defeat in the records. Only two people could have beaten Federer - Nadal and Safin. They might as well give the trophy to Federer now and save our eyes and time.

Well Berdych blew my prediction out of the water oh well, I'm thinking Fed in 4 Blake may have a chance of taking a set here.

The Olympics are very important for all players. I remember Federer being very shocked after he lost that match.

Safin has often complained that the conditions at the Olympics are horrible, and so is the food.

I would love to see a Blake upset ! He is playing great and if he can play like he did last year against Agassi, I think he may take out Federer. Sure hope that the fans play a big part !

The tennis he played against Agassi last year was not good enough to beat Agassi. If it was not good enough to beat an aging Agassi no way will it be good enough to take out Federer. Blake will have to be a whole level higher then he did even in that match to have any chance of beating Federer.

Alot of the players admit that the competition at the Olympics mean almost nothing to them, and they go for the experience of the Olympics, and hanging out with the athletes credentials, etc....There are some like Federer and Roddick who claim to care about the Olympics but who really believes them? If Federer really cared about the Olympics he would not have played Gstaad to start the summer which was already packed. If players really cared about the Olympics you would never see a Massu-Fish final which you would NEVER see in a Grand Slam. You sometimes in mens tennis see one player like that in the final, but never two. You would also never see a final 4 of Dent, Fish, Gonzalez, and Massu at a Grand Slam, Gonzalez is probably the only one of those 4 who have any chance to ever reach a slam semi.

well well well...federer to play blake, believe it or not, on arthur ashe stadium, at night!

but for the non-cable viewers...seriously the first sight of federer will be on saturday for maybe just over an hour, and then sunday...and maybe not even that if he isnt playing an american...

Fed obviously the heavy fav, they've played many breakers but Blake has never taken a set off of him. I've watched all their matches and Blake can't get caught up getting into a slug fest with Fed because he loves the pace. My guess is he'll try what he did the last two times they played, pounding it to his backhand. Fed can thanks the field for his improvement on that side for sure. Should be a highly entertaining match with a ton of winners. I see Fed winning it in 3-4.

Am I reading this correctly? I think the poll's broken... I'm reading Blake 18 Federer 65, when I should clearly be seeing Blake 0 Federer 83.

Someone, fix the poll!

"In four, Blake defeats the best and defines his own growing greatness."
excuse me. i'll have whatever HE'S smoking.

now, i don't know mark preston from a hole in the wall. but if he defines "greatness" (of any kind) by quarterfinal showings at majors . . . well, his list of greats should be pretty long.

of course, he also predicted serena williams would become "the first women’s wild card to reach the fourth round" once she took out mauresmo. in three, no less. and then of course there was "Agassi in an easy three" over mr. benjamin becker. preston got SOME predictions right. he's pretty mediocre on that front. maybe he's still working on defining his own growing greatness.

Fed will slaughter James, I just hope that James would manage to avoid being embarassed in front of loving and supportive fans. Even if he wins a set, that would constitute success for James.

well like the majority of ppl i believe fedexpress will win this one however i think it will be in 4 or 5 if blake can win the opening set.

anybody know when this match will be on?

This is professional tennis. Anyone can win. Blake has a chance but he's got to serve big and hit big. And hope Federer is a little off.

there's a mixed doubles quarter on right now (that they aren't showing cos they'd rather talk). second match on is blake/fed. you never know, but probably around 8-9pm or so eastern.

90 minutes, straight sets. Federer is on a mission.

ted robinson, village idiot, giving federer the #1 ranking for the decade. what a knob.

blake erratic. crowd booing fed for challenging. on serve, 1 all.

the booing of fed is really annoying......stupid americans and their american pride despite me being one lol
