Federer VS Hartfield *spoiler*

You guys watching this? It's an interesting match.... Federer broken in the first game, Hartfield makes a comeback to hold in the second game.

At the moment Fed is being completely outplayed and this Hartfield guy can volley.

He's ranked 157 and never played a Tour level event.

Top seed and ATP World No. 1 Roger Federer made a scratchy start to his quest to become the sixth player in history to win all four Grand Slam titles on Day 1 of Roland Garros Sunday. Federer sprayed 49 unforced errors during a tougher-than-expected 7-5, 7-6(2), 6-2 win over Argentine qualifier Diego Hartfield. He had to rally from a double break at 0-3 to salvage the first set against a player making his Grand Slam and ATP-level debut.

Hartfield should have won the first set. The out call which was shown on slow motion and shot spot showed federer's ball as out but the chair ump said it was good. Then at 5-4, in the first set, Hartfield goes down 0-30 when his ball hits fed's baseline but is called out! This officiating is bullshi t.

Give me a break tennissavy, Diego had his chances.I will say that if these two met again, it would be a wipeout for Fed, he always struggles with unknown players.

No, Hartfield got screwed and the television showed it. The camera doesn't lie. It was great because shotspot showed the bad call, slow motion replay showed the bad call and my dvr showed the bad calls. By the way, your basic grammar is incorrect.

Whatever, get loss.U telling me the match was decided on that one point?Diego wasnt crying about the call.
Again wrong. Diego was extremely upset about that first horrible call. He was disgusted with the chair umpire. You mean get lost right, not, "get loss"?

I dont need a spelling teacher jackass. One point doesnt turn around a match.Props to Diego, he still would have loss this match.

Don't requires an apostrophe as well as doesn't. Lost is the past participle of lose. You don't know if Hartfield would have LOST or won the match if he had not received the bad calls. Perhaps he would have been more optimistic about his chances if he had not received bad calls in the first set and won it. Those calls might have changed the outcome of the match.

Tennissavy, it's not very redeeming to have to rely on ad hominem attacks to refute your point.

Honestly, what are you trying to prove? This isn't a grammar test. ACE of Hearts has better grammar than most people do on the internet, including many very well educated people that I know.

its alot easier to type like this 4 sum ppl, u know.

Your grammar and spelling is quite poor too.

That was ridiculous how many bad calls Hatfeild got:shock:

Even fed knew a couple were out for sure, but he isn't going to say anything, and continually shot spot confirmed.

I can't wait until shot spot is used at all tournaments especially Slams, so there is no unfair biased towards the top players, that is what seeding is all about anyways, is that not enough?

Hartfield should know the rules. If he sees a wrong call he can ask for the umpire to check the mark on the court, but he didn't.

And while they were the wrong calls, I doubt they could've affected the outcome of the match.

Ditto!

Tennissavy,
It's not politically correct to spell top Pro name who is Lady in that way you did in your signature. If you relate somehow yourself not only to forum but sport and sportmanship you probably will make it yourself.

If u noticed, the conditions are very windy.

And let me guess the wind was blowing only around Fed and Hartfield had a magical shield around him protecting him, and the ball, from it?

Anyway, Fed couldn't lose from him, bad call or not. But he should be worried cause he struggeled too much.

He shouldn't really be worried. He was hitting the ball 10X better than Nadal hits it in the 3rd set. That's what happens when you go for broke against him, he just whips it back.
