At the sub50 ranked player pre-Wimbledon Gala somebody spiked the grape punch juice bowl with EPO & Steroids.

Apparently Rosol & Malisse have way too many of the salty pretzels and and were seen at the punch juice bowl repeatedly. Less was known about Bennetau, but on the 6 minute ride back home his mom had to make a stop at the gas station because Julien just couldn't hold it in any longer.

Fed and Wawa lost to Malisse and Dolgopolov last year in the doubles final at IW. That was a great match!

Federer playing someone even older than he is. Should be Fed in straights but obviously these days you never know.

It would mean he keeps his quarterfinals streak alive too.

Fed is 3-0 vs Malisse, and has only lost 1 set in their 3 matches.

Easy straight set for Fed, even though Malisse is playing pretty good so far (I didn't think he would get past Simon).

Which Malisse are you looking at? They are 9-1 and Malisse took Roger to 5 at Wimbledon in 2001. He's on a 9 match losing streak, which started with that match.

Fed is 9-1 against Malisse with the Belgian's only win way back in 1999. Also, it's interesting that Federer had most of his wins in 2001-2002, one more in Canada 2006 and another two wins in 2011 (both in straight sets).

Malisse has been playing really well though, Fed has to stay alert.

H2H 9-1 with the only loss coming back to 13 years ago when Fed just turned pro speaks pretty much everything. It's not like Malisse is an inspired Haas who just beaten Berdych and Kohlschreiber, all he did was beating Verdasco who's a clay courter. Coming off with the tough win Fed should do it with relative ease.

X-man is a veteran on grass and a former semi-finalist here.

I voted for Fed in 3, but I think he's going to get a run for his money in the first or second set.

Don't know what Malisse is going to hurt Fed with - doesn't have a good serve, he's nearing 32 and moves like it, doesn't have a lot of variety or power in his groundstrokes, and prone to serious mental lapses. He looked utterly lost against Fiasco until the latter remembered he didn't know how to play on grass.

Who knows, maybe Malisse will surprise everyone.

The first set is crucial. If fed wins: Fed in 3, if Malisse wins: Fed in 5 or Malisse in 4.
I hope to God, Roger wins in three or four. I don't want him to spend energy and also I don't wanna get a heart attack. The tension is unbearable :(

Belgium calling here. Malisse only once could beat Federer, back in 1999 in the Davis Cup. Normally Malisse has no chance. Everything will depend on his serve and how he reacts if he looses crucial points: will he complain, or will he fight back, one point at a time.

Chance for Federer 3-0 is 80%, but you never know. If FedEx can't get a break of serve. We'll see. In a 'good' day, Malisse can do everything, but we must be realistic. If he can produce a nice game without losing in less than 2 hours, he will already have done a good performance.

Fed will win easily because
- he will be fired up after last match's 5 set fight. In contrast, he was distracted earlier by Nadal loss.
- he got an opponent..old..not big hitter (typically on whom he feasts on)

Over the years I was waiting for Malisse to "wake up". He has everything. If only he could have gotten things together he could have been one of those constant top20-top25 players.

The little steps where fed was so famous for at wimbledon are completely gone aren't they? It's now just one big step each time and lunge for the ball

Fed looks like he may be having back issues, really upright for returns and serves hes not bending near as much. even rallying hes really rigid...might be because of the wind but when isn't usually even when its crazy windy.

I don't remember when was the last time Fed got this easy a draw up until the quarters. It is almost as if Nadal's draw was mistakenly switched with Fed's :)
Fed had better make best use of these early matches to hone his game for the final stages. The way he is struggling now , looks like he won't have a prayer vs Djokovic if he gets to the semis

There definitely is something up with him, hope it is not a physical issue as you say. But there are enough indications of the same.
