2-1 still on serve
What a 2nd serve out wide. And yes roddick is hitting a bit deeper and with more pace right now.
Fed holds, promising start from Roddick. Don't care who wins, I just want a good quality match.
Good start from both players, but Roddick showing slightly better form and better serving and returning. This could get interesting if both keep it up.
Is this streaming anywhere?
andy got lucky on the pass with the let cord
Fed with a backhand DTL winner
check out espn3.com
Roddick is teasing Federer to go DTL with his forehand but Fed's too inconsistant to pull it off often
Not exactly DTL. Besides, Roddick holds serve thanks to two ugly misses by ********.
nice to see andy holding serve
fed is looking kind of sloppy from the back of the court though
All things considered, I actually think that 2003-2004 Roddick would beat 2011 Federer in straight sets despite the match-up issues.
That shank (Fed) went sky-high.
yea but Roddick isn't making any dumb errors from the baseline today as well
not a bad match so far.
ARod stays in rallies with Roger
Roddick is hitting with more depth but he's still too far behind the baseline.
Rod is taking his slices to the guy who invented it
Roddick playing way behind the baseline. Bad idea?
That's almost always a bad idea.
fed is working his way into this match. His game is starting to pick up
break points for federer
federer breaks and serves for the first set
having played so well thus far Roddick now he gets broken to love...
Roddick fails his way to a terrible 3-5 hole.
holy **** what a shot
Rodge is still capable of pulling off tough shots, Old man tricks
Suddenly the net is 10 feet tall for Roddick
first set goes to Federer if arod wants to win the second, he needs to stand on the baseline and not be so far behind it. let's see what happens in the second
During the game where Roddick got broken in 1st set, Fed latched on to the fact that Roddick was having trouble with the short slice return to the Forehand side.. Repeated the dose and broke shortly. Those two shots from Roddick were kind of like you would see on the rec courts, yeap, thats how bad they were.
After that Roddick's BH slice approach broke down as well, going into the net.
Roddick has to play OUT OF HIS SKIN just to somewhat hang with Federer. It has to be SO frustrating. As a Roddick fan, I hate watching him play Fed.
great shot to save BP by Roddick
you are not a Rodick fan, you are a Fed hater
and that should just about be the match.
Set 2, Game 1: Didn't catch this in time, so maybe it was a Fed challenge, but: Roddick challenges a serve out call, which if the court had been the size of basel city, would still have been out
That's it. Federer breaks.
I like them both, but I started liking Roddick before Federer. Also the H2H is SO skewed that I want Roddick to win. Plz find a post in 5 years where I have said a single bad thing about Federer
well, ok...but there are very few Nadal fans who like Fed
True. It's the same dynamic that has developed between Cvac and Nadal, and quite frankly it sucks.
In Miami last year Roddick played probably one of his best matches ever to beat Nadal. What has happened to that Roddick. Is he finished. He hasnt had hardly any decent results (other than U.S Open this year where he was aided by a badly off form Ferrer and then looked hopeless and listless vs Nadal) in a year and a half now.
I love the first person view of the point, so much fun to see
I agree with you there, im not like that though, when Federer retires there's going to be a huge hole left. I can't root for him when he's playing Roddick though, bc I feel so bad for Andy.
great point to start the third game
Andy is starting to talk to himself
It does suck. It makes the match predictable and torturous. Federer, like Novak, doesn't even have to do much besides show up and play somewhat decent.
good service game from Roddick but he needs more to break back.
when this tournament first started the winner got a wrist watch
Huh left for a bit and came back to this. Doesn't look good for Roddick.
37 % 1st serves for Roddick, 62 % for Federer, no wonder it's going so well for Fed
Separate names with a comma.
