Why my friend do you continually attack people on this list, I really don't get it ? This is supposed to be a forum where we share our love for the game, and knowledge as well. I bet you have some good tennis wisdom, so share it my man and quit ripping folks.

Defcon, LOL! This is just hillarious, more posts, please.Defcon said:Ok, so Fed now has a new shot in the arsenal - the low slice bh passing shot that inevitably draws the volley error from Roddick. Its like he's thinking - 'I know I can pass him, but why not try something different'.

I live in England and I've been in the Kent area (which is were this 'sexiamybabes' claims to live), and trust me, judging from her profile and the crap she spouts she sounds just like the 'chavs' or 'pikeys' or 'townies' (equilivent of American trailer-trash), whose main ambition in life is to spell as improperly as possible, hurt 'inferior' people physically and psychologically, getting drunk and having sex with strangers whenever possible, and generally be really shallow when it comes to the opposite sex.
Just look at her damn profile and the crap she has in her sig.

I was reading Federer's interview and he said that his game matches up well with Roddick's. Brings to mind a point someone made on these boards (sorry, I forgot who), about how match-ups can explain why a given pair of players can have a tough or a lop-sided rivalry. I just hope his foot heals completely - he is far too precious to tennis to be lost to injury.
Also, Roddick commented that he has never had a monster serving day against Federer. Hopefully he has one soon, and Goldfine sharpens up his volleying enough to worry Federer. But, I have to think that he had a reasonable serving day today, because he outaced Federer, something which he didn't do at Wimbledon. If he gets a better serving day than today, then I think he can trouble Federer once in a while, at least in the best-of-three format. Not so sure about best-of-five, because it is harder to sustain that kind of serving for so long, and Federer adapts like he is Borg (not the Swede, the Star Trek aliens).

FiveO said:Except for an "on" Safin and Nadal on clay (IMO Raf remains an unknown on hards) Federer is two levels above the next best guys. He was scratchy at Cincy through all five rounds. The best he played IMO was against Rochus. Fed was firing on about 6 of 8 cylinders and still controlled the final against Roddick who came in playing the best I've seen him play in a long while. Amazing. It looked like a great 18 year old expending just enough to string a talented 12 year old along.
I give Roddick credit for his performance in Cincy and a very good and solid win over Hewitt who looked overmatched and overpowered v. A-Rod in the SF. I also give Andy credit for coming in as much as he did. He lost a significant number of points at net, and some of his approach choices were questionable yes, but he is beginning to look a lot more comfortable up there, and smoother coming in than he did during Wimbledon. Less awkward. He deserves credit for actually working on it and bringing it to his matches rather than just talking about it like some other devout baseliners of the past.
Carillo quoted Roddick as saying, pre-match "I have nothing to lose today" and concluded Andy would play free and loose. Instead I think that Andy saw this as a real opportunity to "gain" something today and couldn't cash in on it. I fear this loss may done more to damage to A-Rod's psyche than his closer losses to Fed. At least in those matches Andy could take some solice in the fact that Roger was playing like he was not of this world. It kind of reminds me of when Agassi would come thru the summer with all kinds of momentum and then be stopped by Sampras in their next big match. Agassi was hit hard by those losses. I think Fed just shook whatever confidence Roddick had built over the summer, again. Unless someone gets Fed early at the Open, I think both Hewitt and now Roddick have NO belief that they can overcome the current #1 whether Roger is playing well or not.
I knew Fed was better than everyone else but until today, I didn't realize just how wide the gap is between him and the next best guys. It has to be dis-heartening to the other top guys looking for an answer to Federer.

Great post. I agree completely to the point where Ive had the ridiculous fanciful thought about whether Fed is like a 7.5 rated player while the others are 7.0. That is they can stand on the court with him and even challenge him if hes really off his game but still cant win (xcept as said by you Nadal on clay and the best Safin).
