TTC will provide live coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. local time. Oddsmakers have Roger as a heavy favorite but most of the money has been coming in on Pete. The crowd should be behind Pete. I like Roger in 3 sets.

Man I want badly for Pete to win, however it looks like Fed may be out for blood in this as he hasn't tasted victory in quite some time.

Normally Federer might throw the match to generate excitement but if he loses this, his losing streak goes to 3 matches, whereas in the past we would be surprised if he lost 3 tournaments in a row, let alone 3 matches.

except it's an exhibition, therefore DOESN'T COUNT.

The date of the Sampras/Federer Madison Square Garden match iis today (March 10th), the time is 7:30pm US Eastern Time, and it will be broadcast on The Tennis Channel.

All day today The Tennis Channel has been replaying the 3 November Sampras/Federer exhibitions, and at 2:30pm US Eastern Time today will broadcast the 2001 Sampras/Federer Wimbledon quarterfinal.

Money????? Betting??????? You cannot be serious! That's like betting on whether Hamlet dies at the end of the play.

I went with Federer on the theory that, if he played anywhere near normally, he would run Sampras off the court. But this is an exhibition so, Federer 2-1

Speaking of which, Tennis Channel is replaying the 2001 match-up with Pete and Roger. As for this match tonite, I honestly don't care because it's an exhibition.

The 2001 Wimbledon match being shown is the BBC broadcast with John Barrett. It looks like it's also going to be broadcast again tonight after the Madison Square Garden exhibition.

even though sampras is nearly 37 imo he is still better player than federer and i guess he will win the match if they both play 100% seriously... we will see... sampras' win would be shame for todays tennis but also one other provement where has tennis gone

Fed is likely to win. Having looked at the previous F&S exhibitions, they sort of remind me of when I play my teenage son, with me being the (way) old guy. If Sampras plays smart (aka, doesn't waste a lot of energy attempting to run down hopeless shots), gets some luck (a couple key net rollovers, barely in calls, very few stupid unforced errors), and service is hot, Sampras could beat Fed, the whipper snapper, especially if he somehow messes with Fed's head.

That all said, the smart money should be on Fed.

the stream is hopeless... its like 1 frame per 5 mins.. its ridiculous..anyone else having the same problems? i hope it works better in..40 mins when match starts..this is huge for me, i havent seen Pete play since his last USO and he really was my chilhood hero. Id love to see him again even if it is an exhibition!

Just saw the MSG+ (new channel in NY previously FSN), the preview show. Now, it is in HD TV.

Lendl was there early to supervise? His interview was pretty funny and supposedly Tiger arrive in a special car.

I almost wished I had bought tickets for the atmosphere.

Did I just see Weller Evans walking with Pete and Roger? That is so cool!

(and yes, that certifies me as a complete tennis geek).

Weller Evans is a former ATP employee, he was in charge of player services for North American events. I met him a few years ago in San Jose and he's always been very good to me. He posts on this forum from time to time, but I won't give away his screenname. I have a big soft spot for him. :)

Velveeeeeeeeeta! But who cares, its still kind of fun and chaotic.

But, if they are going to play music for these players, then why the conflicting drumline on top of it? They made the same mistake at Davis Cup and I just had to laugh at it.
