Yes, you heard it here first. Mark in your calendars. Roger Federer, the greatest of all time, will overcome his age and win his 19th grand slam.

He may even roll through the clay goat in the process.

Federer will win one eventually right?

If you were asking this question in 2002 or 2003, the answer would be an emphatic "YES!" But he's almost 36. He doesn't have to eventually win anything anymore. In fact it's a miracle he won 4 tournaments already this year.

You right you right. We won't know for sure. Anything extra will only be icing on the cake in this stage of his career

very bold statement. /jinx the jinx and we've only heard it since AO for a millionth time.

but yes I'm betting rent on fed
to ensure his loss

If you think about it, Fed shouldn't have any pressure to win this. He won AO, so what is he losing exactly? He got another slam, should play more freely now.

Definitely didn't hear it here first. The guy has been many people's favourite and a trendy pick since January.

I agree that Federer has the best chance to win Wimbledon unless through some magical maneuvers, Djokovic manages to regain his 2016 form and confidence.
I don't see Nadal stopping Federer at Wimbledon. Other players may upset him first.

Only players I can see upsetting Federer are big servers and ball bashers on a good day. Ex. Raonic.

Well, Raonic hasn't been in good form recently but yes, he's one of the players who could trouble Federer if Raonic is having a great day and Federer an off one. Other players who could trouble Federer are players like Kyrgios or perhaps Cilic. If Federer makes it through those type of players the only other player I can see troubling him would be maybe Nadal if Nadal can make it that far.

Raonic has been straight terribad this year though. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes out early, and Murray too.

I actually would love to see a rematch in the semis between Fed and Raonic. I am confident that an in-form and healthy Fed blows away this awkward giraffe 6-4. 6-4, 6-1. I'd love to see it. :D

Raonic, Kyrgios, Cilic. These are the players I also see as the direct threat to Federer. But like @Big_Dangerous said, I could also picture all three of them flaming out early unfortunately.

I can see Nadal or Murray winning the tournament, but I think in order to do so they will have to duck Federer in the draw. Neither can beat Federer on grass when he is in this form. Murray will get too frustrated and I don't think Nadal will be able to defend the court against the all-out Federer attack with the lower bouncing ball and slick surface.

Nadal's knees may not even hold up throughout the fortnight for him to win the thing.

Miracle? That's funny. Having 6 months off was exactly what Fed needed, and with Murray and Djokovic in free fall, Nadal not a threat off clay and everyone else terrified of him it isn't hard to fathom at all. You are a very knowledgeable and smart guy, I'm surprised you are falling into this line of thinking.

Anyways in general regards to this thread, yes as I explained on the general discussion thread a little bit ago it's a lock for Roger. Not since 06 has he had this clear a path to victory and only him getting hurt or a huge choke will stop him.

This. I hope Federer avoids Raonic or a big server. They are always dangerous on grass.

I hope someone eliminates NK before he faces Fed. He seems to only show up against the top players. Against all others, he's really volatile and unmotivated.

I just feel like there will be a disappointing end to Fed's run. I expect a R4, QF, or SF finish. Maybe not Querrey level, though that is possible. I think the upset will be more predictable, less disappointing, but sobering to this entire forum.

:D :) ;)

After taking the clay season off for grass, it will be a real downer if he suddenly gets Rosol'ed off court :(
I guess AO has really raised our hopes!
