If he had converted that match pt(s?) against Del Po. Would have been no 1 till Wimbledon. Would have been in the top half. Maybe would have played a different player in the last 8 instead of KAndy. A real butterfly effect, no?

Sampras in 2002 ended the year ranked 13th in the world with one title to his name... the US Open 2002. Federer this year in comparison has done a lot better.
If you wanted to pick another year it's a bit like Sampras in 2000 as well. But 2002... don't make me laugh.
