Federer's Greatest Match on Clay

Was Nadal hurt in Hamburg 2007? Fed bageled him in the final set on clay, which hardly seems possible!

Do you mean the RG 2011 match against Djokovic? That was a great match too of course, but beating Djokovic on clay is not the same as taking out Nadal! It was pretty awesome to see Fed end Djesus' streak in 2011 though and the aura of invincibility.

Whenever someone is beating Nadal, Nadal must be injured right?

You Nadal fans are unbelievable.

For me it comes down to one of these 5 matches:

2002 Hamburg Final Vs Safin
2007 Hamburg Final Vs Nadal
2009 French Open Final Vs Soderling
2011 French Open SF Vs Djokovic
2014 Davis Cup Final Vs Gasquet

I'd say the Istanbul 2015 final. Ending his red clay drought after 6 six years like that, there was a lot of pressure riding on that final. He came through with flying colours. Gave him the confidence to reach back-to-back Wimby/US Open finals as well.

Rome 2006. The greatest match Roger ever played that he lost. The second place match would be the 2006 Dubai final against Rafa (obviously not on clay).

Rome 2006 were the exact tactics Roger needed to use in order to beat Nadal on clay-- swarming the net, super aggressive. But he still couldn't get the job done, choking on those 2 MP's. I still say Rome 2006 is the third most important match they've ever played, it had huge implications on Roger psychologically. And for anyone claiming 2015 Roger is his "best," just watch the 2006 Rome final. He was off the charts in every department then.

Any long high quality highlights of that match? I am struggling to find them and it has been over a month since I started searching.

Without a shadow of a doubt: The semifinal against Djokovic FO 2011. Federer never played a better match before (all surfaces) and hasn't after either.
