Federers Rally-Revenge vs Nadal at the AO Eight Years Later

Venus has a tremendous body :p

The point of Nadal being epic is his amazing defensive shotmaking coupled with his ridiculous consistency off the ground which means lower ranked players usually try to go for the tactic of taking a racquet out of his hands. When they're feeling it, it makes for some spectacular matches (like Nadal-Verdasco, offensive vs defensive baseline tennis at its peak). Fed and Novak (to a lesser degree) by comparison dictate and rush players so they don't really have time to setup their shots, it's a different approach to the game, you'll often feel you have a shot to beat Nadal if you just execute near flawless aggressive tennis for a prolonged period.

Also, Nadal does have the most on-court intensity I've seen since Hewitt. Whether one likes it or not, he can make a tennis match feel like boxing. I think it's a big part of his appeal.

Not my cup of tea overall but I appreciate his presence in the game.

the first part of that point wasn't serious. It was only an apt response to MN ;)
Of course Nadal can be exciting to watch when he's not playing passive/is up vs an excellent attacking player or when involved in one of those 5-setters etc.

Nadal is epic against almost anyone ;) #STTYTM

And I made an objective observation by closely following the entire tourney (instead of a 1 minute clip), Fed's movement on the whole during 2017 AO was nowhere near his prime days. Which is hardly surprising given the lack of matchplay from 6 months and him nursing a thigh injury throughout the tourney. What carried his behind over the finish line was his grit and his ballstriking. In terms of level of play it's his worst slam title since 2006 AO.

I also made a logical conclusion that if there was indeed such a tremendous gap in footspeed between Fedal in 2017 AO final as you (and others) imply, Fed would have won the match fairly easily instead of having to claw his way back in the 5th set. That should be fairly obvious to anyone with a first clue about tennis.

Are you gonna comeback with some schoolyard insults now, boy?

Nice job. You clearly knows what you are talking about. A lot of BS and word twisting and very, very little useful information.

I know people like you. I've seen enough of your like in this forum.

2009 one best rally I’ve ever seen. Literally every shot near the corner or line and insane gets from both guys.

2017 still good, but a lot more safe shots and both guys slowed down.
