If Federer loses early in Wimby, he will be out of top 10?

Funny how Fedr kept in top ten with Olympics coming up. Very convenient for everyone concerned!

Why is he still ranked in the top ten? Is it because of his Wimbledon 2019 points? I have no idea.

1200 Wimby 2019
720 AO 2020
500 Basel 2019
500 Halle 2019 (just dropped to 250)
500 Miami 2019 (was 1000, dropped to 500)
400 ATP Finals 2019
360 USO 2019
300 Indian Wells 2019 (was 600, dropped to 300)
180 Shanghai 2019

He'll lose 600 in Wimby in 3 weeks, then next up will be 90 defended for Cincinnati 2019, 360 for USO 2019, then Shanghai, Basel, and ATP Finals points. He'll be out of the top 10 by the end of the year, but he's still got a lot of points that will stick around until 2022.

So...
if Shapo reaches the USO SF, Rogi is #10
+
if Ruud or PCB is runner up, he is out...

Pretty sure Covid-19 was invented in a lab to maintain Fraud's ranking.

Desperate needs calls for desperate measures :)
Yeah thought the same, Fed got lucky, but then again, matches have been played, secured rankings should not have taken place.

It actually shows the state of the game still leaves a lot to be desired when a semi retired 40 year old, who has barely played any tournaments this year or for over a year, and whose only good result in a tournament in over a year is a Wimbledon quarter final, is just now leaving the top 10. And yes even with the skewed Covid based ranking rules.

Actually scratch that, I misread the title. Federer apparently is still in the top 10. Even though he is 40, is semi retired, has barely played any tennis in over a year, and has one good result- a Wimbledon quarter final. Yes the state of the game still leaves a lot to be desired.

Covid protected rankings or else he wouldn't be even in top 50 right now is my guess.

It will start to show now.

How come this relates to state of game, it is covid protected ranking

Is he still playing to make money from Wilson and Uniqlo? Why not retire as he has no shot at winning another Slam? Is it that much fun to travel around during a pandemic and struggle in every tournament he plays?

Doesn’t he forget the heights be reached when he won 20 Slams? He is like Icarus who can’t help wanting to fly too close to the sun even if it might cause him to drown.

Some people just enjoy the flying even after they've seen and done all that could be done soaring amongst the clouds
