Fed's ON with Iga

Does this mean she's not with Asics anymore? There was a since-deleted thread about Iga's (possible) lack of marketability and a few people said that the Asics brand isn't particularly cool or good at showcasing its players.

Are they not going to be wearing the Roger Pros? I figured Ben would definitely be wearing them.

It would be very cool to see what a Iga signature shoe would look like, particularly for a brand like On.

Yes hes serves huge but the rest of his game is sloppy(like all time sloppy like 4.0 sloppy) and relies primarily on athleticism
I just don’t see it. Just another USA hype/Hope guy.

ON makes really good running shoes. I don’t know if they’re making some for old people or not but they’re great at shoes for long distance runners.

Not going in to sponsorship deals, but to agree with description of Sheltons game. It's weird.

They are not proven in professional sports.And yes I’ve said MAIN products (that’s how company started) are comfortable,casual style shoes for those groups of customers.
Company will need years to develop tennis shoe

I didn't watch Shelton before and after reading quite a lot about his serve and success he made recently I've decided to carefully observe his game at IW .
Tbh serve didn't impress me that much , maybe because of court speed , him not be able to bring his best serving performance ,but I was plesantly surprised with his athleticism at 1,93cm &body type, still very young. His FH seemed really weird , too much wrist action
 
Ben Shelton just turned Pro in August of last year. He has already ascended to 39 in the world, I would say he's coming along just fine.
Getting beat by Fritz & Paul (top 20 guys) in tough 3 set matches is not bad for kid who's been on tour 6 months.
He has a massive serve, athleticism for days & pretty solid all-around game.
Most of the greats see greatness in Shelton & all the upside in his raw talent.
I totally get why ON jumped on him.
The kid always has a smile on his face & is fun to watch.

Have gone to see him in person multiple times. He’s the real deal. If he’s not currently packing the stands, that’s an indictment on the tournament or the state of the sport, not the player.

I dropped in to say the same thing. It's very odd to be comparing On Running with Nike right now as the article was doing. Nike makes as much revenue in one week as On makes in an entire year!

Given that On is only pulling in about $1 billion annually (which is respectable given how long they've been around), I doubt they are dropping huge money on Iga and Ben. Rather, I bet they are getting ownership stake (aka, stock) as a bigger part of their compensation.

Also, as another post pointed out, if I was paying Roger Federer $300 million to be my "brand ambassador" like Uniqlo is, I would be pretty upset by how much he is hawking the apparel of another company on social media.
 
The article doesn't compare ON with Nike. It simply states that ON hopes Federer brings attention to their brand like Jordan brings to Nike. Federer's deal with Uniqlo is the same as ON, bringing attention to their brands by being associated with Roger Federer. I think some just resent that Federer can get that deal with Uniqlo for $300 million while other players would not.

At some point the article reads:

"That's in stark contrast to Nike, who's net income declined 11%...."
 
Shouldn't the thread title be reversed to be: Igas got Fed's ON? I don't know what outfit would make her look cool. Asics couldn't do it, certainly not the shorts.
 
Yes, ON sells shoes primarily, but the company does sell apparel for working out. However, with Roger involved, the company wants to get involved in making shoes and apparel for tennis.

I would go in a second. Shelton is awesome and a much better player than Iga.
 
No clothes can make her feminine . On photos maybe but in real life , I don't think so. It's a shame but I guess she can't help herself.
Femininity is one of the best traits and feeling woman can have

Pretty much Every single player is “more feminine” in person. You wouldn’t know that though since you browse a few statistics sites and watch a few highlights here there. Go to an event and you’d change your mind.

Thanks for your passive-aggressive advice . I've not seen Iga play but as a female I would know what femininity in appearance means. Iga does not have it
