IMO, the RDX wasn't a bad hit. Actually it's the first Yonnie that felt pretty good since they started incorporating the "Ti" initials in all their models. I did have it pretty leaded up, however. The Ti 80 is much more metallic feeling...

im not sure about the rdx500 mid, but the MP version of the racket felt awful in my hands. i tried it around mid tension and it felt hollow and "tinny". when strung higher w/ PSGD, it felt even worse. this racket was stock, but honestly, it felt like it was about to snap off on each hit...i guess it just isnt the stick for me

I think the Ti80 is a great racquet. It's a player's frame with a 98sq" head and a 315 SW.

Simply because it's 98sq", it had too much power for me. Otherwise, it would most certainly be my main racquet.

And yeah, it can feel metallic, but you just need a soft string. I string at 67lbs with NXT16 and it feels just a tiny bit metallic. Mine's also weighted up to about 12.5 ounces.

Anyway, you can do a search, the ti80 has been discussed thoroughly.

snoflewis: hey, you like Russell Peters, the Canadian Comedian?
It was funny because we watched a bootleg DVD of him, and in his routine, he mentions the very mall where we got that DVD! Haha, who's laughing now?

i don't like him too much anymore..since i got sick of discussing his routine w/ friends and laughing for hours. i just think everyone should listen to it at least once since it's so hilarious

i actually switched from the ti-80 to POG mid.
i like both racquets.
i am keeping my ti80s as backup.

POG gives me more kick on serves, and just more control overall.

as for the RDX500. i hated it. it just didnt feel right AT ALL. used lead tape, STILL didnt like it.

i rather use SRD90 or RD-7.

Yonex's best racquet right now, IMO. It is crisp in feel, but feels ideal with a natural gut/synthetic hybrid, or something elsde nice and soft.

Serves very well, lots of control but still good pop (better than RDX series), great at the net, great slices, very maneuverable, excellent feel/feedback,just a well-rounded frame overall....the only criticism you'll her is that it can feel harsh or metallic on mishits, but the gut hybrid string elimiates most of that.

I think that it may the best racket in the Yonex lineup. And this is coming from someone that is not a Yonex fan at all. Most of their frams feel so flimsy and hallow, but the Ti-80 is a pretty solid ground-stroking racket all around, well dampended, and is relatively easy to swing for a player's frame. But, on serves, it feels.....let's say "weird".

It never hurts to demo a racquet. You'll always second guess otherwise. They have them at the P G A stores with the indoor tennis court. I thought it was ok for a mp I guess. As for the rdx 500, the mid is the only way to go. Lead it up to 13.5 oz. and 65-67 lbs and youve really got something.

Ti 80

i agree to use soft strings, i tried the ballistic on mine b4 and the feel was terrible.

bty, can anyone compare the new RDS001 and the TI80? The place i live has no demo service so will pretty much rely on this site for advices.
