He's just lost Q1 match at 2022 Roland Garros Qualifications:

Sad he can't get wildcards till he's done, but I guess admirable he's out there playing quallies. How many times in this run did he have to play in the qualifiers? If it's a bunch then that's pretty epic in itself. Hell of a run.

It's okay, though. Madrid was a badass tournament (aside from the scheduling at the end there) he's got other stuff to focus on.

2015 US Open QF against Djokovic was really, really good stuff from Lopez. Could easily have gone the distance.

I remember when Wayne Ferreira had the record
Connors had the moral record anyway, not his fault AO wasn't a real slam back then and RG kept their banning shenanigans until 1978. His would've been *checks* 59, from 1971 WB to 1985 USO (double 77 AO compensates for lack of 1986 AO). The hypothetical/moral streak was broken by a delayed suspension for deliberately walking out against Lendl in Miami, which forced Connors out of RG.

That's nearly 20 goddamn years. 20 years of playing EVERY single slam without fail. That's dedication.

15 years ago, a 20 year long career was almost unheard of, let alone one without significant enough injuries to warrant an extended layoff where a slam is missed. Plus, you need to be good enough to be in the main draw every single slam. That's top 150 level for 20 straight years.

What an inspired streak.

Its exacty 20 years, he started the streak at 2002 French Open

I can’t believe Dimitrov has the next longest streak.

He’s still a young up and coming talent with his whole career in front of him

It looks like that there's an alien spacecraft looming overhead and beaming light towards these earthlings.

Most likely those "little green men" want to abduct Deliciano to find out the secret of his longevity, and to use him as an archetypal specimen of **** sapiens sapiens...

I hope Feliciano gets to be a lucky loser, just so that he can extend his record even further.
How are lucky losers chosen? Whenever I looked into this, lucky losers always had lost in the last round of the qualifiers.
I see that players need to win three matches to enter the main draw of RG, and as Feliciano lost in the first one, I don't think he has any chances if things work like I said.

He could if the guy he just lost to wins two more matches and then can't compete and for whatever reason neither can the guy from the last match or the guy from the second match.

Oh, really? I thought that losers in the last qualy round had preference.

Nothing short of a tactical bombardment of the player lodgings or a massive covid outbreak will get him in the main draw now, I'm afraid.
