Felix Alliasime coach "Sinner Alcaraz better than Djokovic ever was"

Felix coach Frederic Fontang has high praise for the duo:

"Alcaraz and Sinner are superior to Novak for different reasons.
Alcaraz brings variety to his game, he's very offensive, capable of doing a lot of things hes forehand is incredible and the defense is Nadalasque.
Sinner brings consistency.
What he does is incredibly solid, at very high speed without expending too much energy. He's a 'Djoko Plus Plus'.
His forehand is faster and deeper and the backhand is already one of the best in history whitout question, hes an offensive baseliner that can hurt you on both wings in very efficient way, as a coach i think they are both better than Djokovic ever was they also have a higher ball speed and they are still improving every year"

Well, looked at another way, Alcaraz this year lost to 37-year-old Djokovic. Does 2011 Djokovic look any worse than 2025 Djokovic?

Yes of course. But I look at Djoko2011 as something that was close to going another way, Fed had multiple MPs at the US and that was also the year Fed lost to Stakho at Wimbledon. Djoko also played Murray in the Finals of AO bc Rafa lost to Ferrer there,

You're really scraping the barrel here Rosstour, not to mention the fact that you've got the years all mixed up(it was 2013 that Federer went out early at Wimbledon, not 2011).

FAA is an incredible athlete but just too nice, simple and impatient.

These Clowns he has had since he was 5 foot kid did not fix his BH
Uncle Toni or Rafa didnt either, now its too late unless he does 50%
of what Paul McNamee did 6m off the tour going from OH to DHBH.

Clowns could not even warn him not to hit 90% of returns, serves
and groundies to the Sinner FH,

FAA IQ is still like that 5 foot kid.

Balls and conditions are different now, Sinner is in a perfect place
Alcaraz frontal lobe is still far from Jannik's 2 year gap.

Clowns will clown.

Meaningless comparisons really, the game is evolving at a fast pace with tech changes - rackets, fiddling with surfaces to suit slow/fast/whatever players etc...

You may as well compare Alcaraz today with John McEnroe - different eras, can't compare.

He’d certainly drill Alcaraz but Sinner would match up quite well with him imo. I’d back Djok to win the critical points though and of course physicality wise he’s a step above Sinner.
I don't think peak Djokovic is losing more than a set to either Alcaraz or Sinner, although Alcaraz I think can still go up a level from here in the next 2-3 years. Sinner IMO is at or close to his peak and he hasn't showed anything to suggest he could take on a peak big 3 in a Slam, not even close. He can't even beat baby Alcaraz anywhere.

Good call. Djok was the best "shock absorber" tennis has yet seen, and then he'd come back at his opponent
with checkmate force.. just ask Fred. :D

Tennis always evolves...Even Djokovic will agree.

Yeah, pros and coaches know, but you will never convince the fanboi's.

It is amazing the level both Sinner and Alcaraz already have, but I keep saying, and being amazed by what a complete player Alcaraz is. And more growth to come for sure.

I think it's very obvious the single reason Djoko is losing to Sinner right now is he does not have the legs anymore to play his natural game, especially against strong baseliners. It's even worse for Alcaraz tbh. Lil dude seems to have finally created a breathing room between him and Djoko just a couple of months ago, when Djoko was already 38.5.

If 37 year old Djokovic is the best he thinks Djokovic has ever been, then sure, the statement makes sense.

If he's more well attuned to reality, then he knows this statement is nonsense used to drum up hype for a potential additional sponsorship Alcaraz is gunning for.

Alcaraz and SInner are playing better at the French Open than Nadal according to John Mcenroe

So who is this Djokovic guy? Of course Sinner and Alcaraz are better than Djokovic ever was, maybe they are only not as good as Federer because I don't see anyone say they are better than peak Federer

I think peak Federer is still no contact zone for both bcz the aesthetics play a huge part in that

Aesthetics were never that relevant, I donno who started talking of Federer's beautiful backhand, such talks probably started in the 2010s decade, in the 2000s decade beauty of the backhand was never the talk of town like it is today, federer was just the most dominant and that along with his classy personality, good with words etc ... the total package made him just too popular.

So if you compare Alcaraz-Sinner they all lag Fed in something. Alcaraz has the excitement that Fed had in his game but he cannot speak english properly, that is a drawback. Sinner's game itself is super duper boring, it is in the djokovic mould. It is hard to be another Federer and it is beyond aesthetics I would say.

I think he was just made to be that way, Federer have aura before aura was a thing and he was just natural charming whitout trying.

Federer's aura was big, his wins looked effortless, he was just playing tennis ahead of his peers and generation. As Mcenroe once said during one of his matches - Federer is playing like he is from another era in the future.

Fed lost to Tsonga that year. If you’re gonna spout nonsense at least have it be truthful nonsense.

Sorry Stakho was 2013?

Either way, point is Djoko didn’t have to go through him to get the title

Also weird that Fed and Djoko were in each other’s half of the draw for every single Slam that year….someone could probably break down the odds on that one

LOL, so now all the Djokovic fans will declare Felix an idiot because his statements don't agree with their agenda. Too lame.

Looked at another way, 2011 Djoko lost to Federer at RG, who was turning 30 that year.

Do the players we saw contest RG trophy this year look any worse than Fed11RG?
Fed 11RG SF was one of his best performances at the tournament, so I would say "yes" they do.
