Felix is still using the Pure Aero VS, correct ?

is he hitting the ball withe more Spin and more power now that he's got the new pure aero ?? wonder if his MPH on the serves went up also ??
It's not a new Pure Aero VS....just the new paint job. He's still using the distinctive box beam PAVS 2016.

I'm not good with this stuff so maybe I'm stating the obvious here...but besides the 2020 version not having box beam it also looks like the head shape is totally different. Less "ovally" and more round and the throat is smaller. It's not just me right? I like the mould of the 2016 version a lot better. Looks less like a standard Pure Aero and more distinctive.

Yes it is more distinctive. That particular head shape is, if i’m not mistaken, an aerostorm head. The 2016 model is the last one featuring the old aerostorm mold.

I recently got a couple of this in hand just because of him lol. Felix and I both played with original strike for entire junior year, and neither of us liked the P17. Just wanna see why he switched to this PAVS lol.

I honestly thought you were a training partner of his from the sound of this message.

The rackets are standard length (686mm) and the unstrung weight and balance (including overgrip) is 314g and 32.0cm.

His string setup was:

Mains - Babolat RPM Blast Rough 16 (1.30) @ 23.0 KGS
Crosses - Babolat RPM Blast Rough 16 (1.30) @ 23.0 KGS

Hope this can be of help,

No visible weight added to the frame? Lead tape or anything?

Most pros are now putting lead under the bumper. Djoko, & Osaka have loads of lead tape on the sides. Djokovic has more under bumper too. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.
Novak’s frame has “hidden” lead tape all over the place, FYI.
more than single layer under the bumper, all the way, “extended” to 4 and 8 o’clock (visible).
there is silicone in the handle.

there is lead tape under the grip too (some sticks have it at the top of the pallets, ALL have it flat on the higher end of the pallets, approx 5g total there).
there is silicone in the handle.
all sticks are matched to the mm on the outside (length of the lead tape strips) and static, balance, SW, TW, flex…all matched

I loved pure aero vs tour but they discontinued that thin beam, and replaced it with thicker non-tour version

Is it a mistake or is he now endorsing the Pure Aero 2023?
No way he actually switched!

TW player profiles are never a reliable source of truth. The best case scenario is when a player is endorsing the actual frame they use. The worst case is when even the model the player endorses isn't currently sold by TW. So here we have FAA lumped into the model listing that is painted similar but has no real relation.

If they are getting personal sticks anyway, why can't the manufacture just put more graphite into the stick? Wouldn't it work better than some metal applied afterwards with double sided tapes?

Asked soooo many times…
1) manufacturing variability
2) others are using the same sticks in same or different drill patterns and very different setups
There are probably more reasons behind it

So his racket strung with overgrip has a static weight of 335 grams? That seems really light for an elite professional. It's hard for me to believe this. He'd have a ton of trouble handling heavy balls from nearly 90% of his opponents.

Static weight and balance are a matter of taste.
Swingweight is the number you want to look at for handling heavy hitting
F2A has been reported to use a 340 ish strung swingweight, which is not huge but sufficient

What can i say? i had a chance to get 2 of his frames, right out of his bag, lead tape under bumper. hard to believe at 11.8, 33cm? thats a very common spec range these days..... tell it to Sinner who is around 11.4, 33.3 ish..........

That string pattern looks super tight for a 16x20 on a 98, especially the crosses. (From a PS 100 owner's perspective, the 19 crosses of which are veeery wide spread while the mains are tight)

having hit with his racuet, i do prefer a slightly more open pattern. but his specs were perfectly fine...... its just the racquet, haha

Can anyone find a photo of the grommets at 6 o'clock? A closeup photo to see if he has the rectangular spin grommet that the PAVS has.

I always think it’s funny how we here can talk about what kind of grommets he’s using, but if anyone would ask him he’d say he has no idea what you’re talking about
Yeah most likely. But for us fans, sometimes grommets is a way for us to determine what the racket actually is, since we are only going off photos and not the actual racket in hand.
