F^CK Ferrer and his gay tennis.

Got to hand it to Murray. Murray played very aggressive facing match point and just said "to heck with it". After Ferrer was an inch from winning and got that challenge wrong he was done and dusted, committing a lot of unforced errors. Also Murray changed tactics after that, basically hitting every shot to Ferrer's BH.

Congrats to Muzzah on finally ending his M1000 title drought.

Good grief, Murray looked out of form, out of fitness and not up for it in the slightest. How he somehow managed to win the match i don't know. This was a top 5 guy he was up against too, not just some random bum. For me he was just as bad if not worse than Djokovic against Haas.

I still don't understand how both of them were so physically drained? Had this been a GS they would've had to play another two set, and a long one at that

Wow, I can't believe CBS could not have just stayed with the tie-break. The basketball game hadn't even started. That is pretty weak.

Congrats to A Murray, very tough match, tie breaker win. congrats to Daveed for his 600 points. Murray passes Federer for ATP # 2 slot.
seen it all on free livestream.

Most tennis players could take an example from Ferrer on how to man up when hurt.

Falls over with a cramp, walks it off, and goes back to work. No theatrics.

Murray doesn't deserve the No.2 ranking by playing this crap.
Wozniaki is laughing. But it really doesn't matter. As long as the Top 4 are in the top 4 by RG.

Murray still doesn't play like a major winner. So much for that breakthrough catapulting him. Still as indecisive as ever. Just lucked out today that he met someone who also couldn't finish a match. And I don't see how this game can possibly win at RG - as he allegedly is focusing on.

Great match by both!
There was no choking, just survival.
If Ferru is cramping you know how tough that was.
Andy Murray was awesome, showing how important physical condition.
This was no day for pretty tennis, if anybody thinks that then sorry you just haven't played Miami in these conditions...

Both of these guys are hurting...Murray just a little less because he won!

Congrats to Murray for his 2nd Miami title, I don't think he played his best tennis aside from the match with Gasquet but that's what champs do (get the job done regardless).

Good effort from Ferrer overall, I don't think I've ever seen him run out of gas though, he was cramping in the final set tiebreak.

Not a great quality match by any means but I personally enjoyed (especially the first 2 sets), maybe I'm easily entertained :)

Pathetic match and Ferrer is a champion choker leaving that ball when he had a big play on it! Absolutely disgraceful final

It's the balls more than the court - remember the ball is only in contact a few hundredths of a second.

Conditions too slow...Guys dying playing 3 sets. So slow. Makes it impossible to hit winners which results in messed up winners/errors ratio

I'm with you. Compelling even with the poor play and decision making. And will make me feel better when I go out for a hit today and put a few in the net... :)

Ivo Karlovic just said something very similar. Said balls and courts are way too slow.

Did anyone really, truly ever think Ferrer would win this match?

I didn't. Outside of beating Murray on clay, I won't believe he can beat these guys until he actually does it. This just makes it worse for him...Murray played terrible and Ferrer lost a MP and collapsed in the TB. Murray was probably the one guy that Ferrer had some microscopic level of belief against and this probably crushed that as well.

I swear I wish he'd retire from tennis. All he does is prevent us from seeing some more intriguing matchups with the top 4 and the guys ranked below him.

I see what you're saying but.... if he's that beatable then Haas shouldn't have blown a set and a break (twice) lead. And Murray should be able to swat him away like a pesky fly.

Agree on all you said.

The American network showing the match stopped showing it in Canada just before the timebteak began. Fortunatly i was also wayching it live stream. I think it was CBS...the logo that looks like an eye?

gimmie a break.. he owns everyone ranked below him. has a special pocket in his gym shorts in the shape of berdych and delpo.

this is murray's best surface, yet ferrer had a match point... yet you want him to retire.... please.

Not questioning Ferrer's ability. He's a very good player. But, again, outside of meeting Murray on clay, any other matchup against a Big 4 is, to borrow from Mike & Mike, a stone cold lead pipe lock. It is a foregone conclusion.

Sure, they beat Berdych, Delpo, Tsonga, et al most of the time, but not every time. It at least generates a little drama when one of those guys are involved.

My post was sort of tongue-in-cheek. But, I really am tired of seeing Ferrer in these matches. It was tight today, but never, even at MP, did I think Ferrer would win. Just speaking generally as a tennis fan. I realize those other guys have to beat him and don't, but it definitely makes it less interesting when he advances. At least for me.

Can't really hold that against a guy...but I'm going to anyway.:)
