Ferrer Needs A More Powerful Racquet

Watching this FO Final against Nadal, it makes it even more obvious to me that to compensate for his smaller size, Ferrer should switch to a more powerful frame. I mean he's number 5 in the world with his Prince, but can't seem to beat the guys ranked ahead of him. That Prince frame he uses is a low-mid powered spinny frame.

He games is about controlled heavy topspin shots.....I doubt he would go to a powerful frame that might make hit more errors that he want.

If he wants to beat the top guys....he might have to do that. This might make him lose to guys he shouldn't.

JNot sure I was watching the Al Jazeera stream. Guy sounds in his 50s... has an australian accent.

He switches to an APD leaded and matched to his current specs. Result: He gets about 1 extra mile per hour on his groundstrokes and as much as two on his serve. Worth it?

I thought the same as OP while watching the match. It was obvious that Ferrer's shots didn't have the same plow as Nadal's. Ferrer was trying to put away sborter balls and an APD or Warrior would have helped.

Contrary to what a lot of goobers on here will state, racquet head size, weight, balance, composition, as well as string type and tension can greatly effect the speed, trajectory and weight behind a struck tennis ball.
