An impressive 60-12 W-L record with 6 titles. Not too shabby at all.
6 Titles? Wow go Ferrer.
Haha, I read the title as Federer's 2012 record. Anyway, nice going, Ferrer.
Actually 5 titles and no really big ones: 1 ATP500 (Acapulco) and 4 ATP250s (Auckland, Buenos Aires, s'Hertogenbosch and Bastad). The highest ranked player he beat in those finals was Almagro in Bastad who was ranked #10 at the time.
The highest ranked player he beat this year was world #4 Murray in the quarters of the FO and he also played a close 4 set match with him in the quarters of Wimbledon almost going 2 sets up against him at one point. He also beat world #10 Isner in Spain's recent DC semi-final against the USA.
He has certainly had a very good showing at the Slams this year. He made 2 semi-finals (FO and USO) and 2 quarter-finals (AO and Wimbledon) losing in each case to one of the top 4 players.
Looks like Spain have a chance at clinching another Davis Cup title, this time without Nadal. What an achievement. (Ferrer's 2012 record would indicate that he is capable of winning both his singles rubbers in convincing fashion.)
He seems a good guy, id love him to do a Gomez and win the French at some point
I think he'll win the most titles out of anyone at the end of the season. He''s currently tied with Federer at 6.
Talk about going underneath the radar.
Nahh, clay season is over. No way that Ferrer is going to win more titles in the indoor season than Federer.
He is not tied with Federer. He has won 5 titles this season, not 6 (see my post above).
Yep, Benneteau is a *******. Did not want Ferrer to tie up Federer.
Poor Ferrer is going to have to face Rafa in next year's South American clay events. That's what Rafa has said, less hardcourt and more clay events.
Ferrer has a decent shot at getting back into the top four.
