Fila Axiom's

I like these shoes so far.Soft leather leather uppers while still using the Fila outsole design, but the plasticy side pieces are weird.I hope they last and hold up to previous Fila shoes whose only drawback was fit,lacing and those synthetic leather uppers.Worth looking into.

I always liked Fila shoes. Probably the best bang for your buck out there.

And I agree about the plasticy side pieces.

I'd probably still wear Filas, but KSwiss seem built for my foot.

Hawaii - How do they compare to say, a3's esp. in the toebox? My a3's started out great, but the stiff toebox has begun to take out my toes rather than soften up. I'd have picked up the Net Game Speeds if the lacing didn't dig in to the top of my foot. Any lacing issues with the Axioms? The hidden lacing system looks like the shoes need a cushioned tongue to prevent discomfort... Thanks --

Steve although I never had that discomfort from either my A3's or my Net Game Speed's I can tell you that the Axioms do have a similar lacing system, but not as bad and the tongue isn't more cushioned than the NGS.Maybe look into the Barricade's or an UltraAscendor or even the New Balance 1000 or the upcoming 1001.

Thanks Hawaii - My last 3 pairs have been adidas, and though it always starts out rosy, things end up badly for my toes every time. Takes about 30 days of coming in to the net before the cushioning is all gone. I've started using cut-to-size foam tubes around my toes to keep off the shock. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the new NB's as my foot didn't quite settle in right with the 1000's, disappointing because the toebox did look nice and soft.

If you are looking at Fila shoes, try the X-point. It is their flagship model.

I've tried just about every shoe on the market and I went through my X-Points a few weeks ago.They only lasted me 3 weeks).Although the rubber is more durbable than Nike's(used on ACMI's and Breathe's) there is less of it and it's a much more low profile shoe and isn't quite as durbable.I'm not too picky on the shoes I wear and generally put shoes in two categories.Warrantied and non-warrantied.The warrantied shoes I use as practice shoes and the non warrantied shoes I typically use as match shoes.I go through about 4-5 warrantied shoes a year and 15 or so non warrantied shoes.I typically give my replacements to my nephew.
