Or rather, I have money but also a wife and children, so can’t treat myself no more :-D
You have to evolve your mental gymnastics capabilities to somehow justify it as a necessity, not a treat.

"I 'need' these because ______."

Or just order it from a store with a crappy return policy for her birthday, then be like "Oh, don't fit you? I guess I might as well find a use for for them since I can't return it." when you knew what you were doing this whole time.

not relationship advice, not responsible for any rage tantrums incurred from doing this

Haha. Still rocking mine. They’ve gotten into the rotation more frequently but I expect to punch a hole in the sole in the next 1-2 weeks. Then I’ll have to solve whether or not they have a 6 month sole warranty or not since none of the retailers selling these can seem to agree
Is the hole likely to be on the tread pattern or on the smooth treadless part you think?

Same spot I wear out in every shoe. Under the ball of the foot in my right shoe, so on the tread pattern. Only exception to that I can remember having was the Enforce Tour where I wore out the same spot but on the left shoe.

Updates? Did the 6 month warranty hold up? Thinking of buying a pair. This shoe is so sleek and beautiful, but escaping everyone's attention, it's ludicrous.

They’re still holding on bc I shelved them to try out my Way of Wade All City 11s. I’ll probably lace them back up and see if I can wear them out here soon in the next week or two.

Even if there isn’t a sole warranty, I may see if I can get them replaced under a defect warranty. The medial side of the outsole that wraps up the shoe is coming unglued from the upper on both shoes. I’ll wait until they’re worn and whether or not there’s a sole warranty

Playability wise they are still a fun shoe to play in

I did not see the details about sizing.
Compared to Enforce Tour, did you go same size, up 1/2 or…?

Stayed true to size in both. Enforce Tour has a bit roomier toe box. The Fila just wraps and hugs your foot really well. I could see how some might want to go 1/2 size up if they have a bit wider foot but I wouldn’t have wanted the extra length. Plus the upper has nice flex and pretty much no break in so it conforms to your foot pretty quick.

Thank you. I am probably going to give them a try

I think more people should definitely be giving them a go. They’re not perfect but anyone who likes streamlined, quick feeling shoes should give them a try. I’d take these over a Vapor or Uber any day and will be curious to see what the next iteration improves.

Would you say the underfoot feel is more plush than the Vapor/Uber? I like the glove-like fit of the Vapor Pro 1, but the forefoot cushioning was always too hard for me. Right now my go-to are the FF3s, perfect level of cushioning.

I haven’t worn the newer Vapors bc I was never in love with the older ones like a lot of people. I like the Filas for forefoot cushion more than the Uber 4s I’ve had and would favor them over the Vapors I’ve had in the past (9/9.5s). They do not have as much as my B.Icon 2 or the Way of Wades I’ve been trying. I would also expect the Filas to have less than the Court FF3 although I stopped wearing those after the original bc I didn’t like how much rubber they went to on the uppers.

Thanks! I hear you on too much plastic on the uppers for the FF3. Unfortunately, TPU uppers seem to be the industry standard now for performance tennis footwear. I miss the days when we still got leather on tennis shoes, like the Nike Air Zoom Oscillate. I miss that shoe so much.

Guys I am a current vapor pro 2 user and just looking at these from the foot doctor Zach vid. seems like it would be a shoe that barely does anything to nothing at all for its weight though. But what is described of these sounds like my vapor pro 2 shoes, and I would know, im on my fourth pair. I really recommend the vapor pro 2 shoe, it's very responsive, comfortable, stable, and plush in forefoot and heel. I do want to know though if these would be a good replacement when vp2 shoes go away for new update sucks lol

i wonder if the heavier weight is due to the wood they use in the shoe, which is probably more weighty than a typical plastic piece

i love the look of these and would want to try them, but since my feet fit the speedserve, something tells me these would be too narrow. i would rather not go half a size up with extra length. plus, they remind of the adidas stycons in structure...worried the arch support (reported in post #39) will bite into my midfoot.

If you live in the states you can try ordering them in half a size up to check the fit and then return it if you feet the width or arch is unsatisfactory.

yes I know. but i have no intention of buying them at full price, so I'd feel bad doing that knowing I'm not planning to keep them. they are currently at a considerable discount elsewhere...but for final sale only.

I believe these are half off on fila’s warehouse sale right now

I am not sure if they still come with the durability guarantee

I’ve had bad experience trying to get the warranty with Fila shoes directly through them. Sent two pairs in last year and I never got anything back. I showed them proof of delivery and everything. I’d only trust TW or trusted retailers for that.

Strange, I've warrantied two pairs (speed serves, axilus 2) recently and I've actually only had to upload pictures and receipt. Maybe theyve changed it in the last few months.

Maybe so, I hope so. I get their player discount, maybe when I need shoes (I have a lot so maybe not soon), I’ll try it out.

Was surprised to see Fila release a black color of these. With them having had the same colors since they came out and the fact they've been on fire sale prices everywhere for months, I assumed the line was DOA. Probably still are since the Fila site has the black ones immediately listed at 50% off and "Final Sale"

Did you actually see any of the black ones in stock when you looked? They’re all out of stock now, and the color isn’t listed, though you can find it through a google search.

These are my favorite shoes. Would love a pair in black

A big retailer based out of Ohio shows a full size run in stock for $75

Can’t believe I waited so long to try these. I have a very narrow heel. These are the best fitting tennis shoes I’ve ever put on, truly glove-like. Great heel containment and lateral support. Padded tongue, no lace pressure. I didn’t even notice the unique traction. Also probably the first tennis shoe I’ve tried that had great built-in arch support; I don’t neee my usual orthotic in these. Bravo, Fila! I’m ordering another pair.

Edit: Performance aside, they're super sleek and beautiful to boot, nothing like the current industry standard with all the plasticky stuff in the uppers. That supple leather panel on the side? Chef's kiss. Luxury and performance, can't ask for better.

Fila Tennis, if you are following this thread, here's a quick suggestion. Release a v2 of this shoe, keeping everything the same but with a more conventional outsole traction pattern. Guaranteed these would sell much better. But even as is, these shoes are so underrated. Peeps are missing out. All good for me to store up more pairs.

The fact that there's people like you who waited this long to try it probably makes them think it doesn't sell well and therefore, discourages them from making more.
I only waited so long because I thought there were better options (based on watching and reading reviews) when it was more expensive. But with the price being so discounted now, it made no sense not to try, and boy am I glad that I did. If a v2 comes out with different outsole pattern, I’d pay close to full price. Folks who like the Solution Speed or Nike Vapor series should give these a try.

No I totally get that. I am just saying regardless of the reason (however good or bad), the executives will just look at the numbers and slash it if the product isn't flying off the shelves. They don't care about that stuff. That isn't to say your reasons for not purchasing sooner is invalid in any way

Played with them 3 more times. Better (for me) than the ASICS FF2 and FF3. Better materials, better fit, better heel to toe transition. Did not notice excessive slipping due to unconventional traction pattern. This is the closest shoe I’ve worn that had a true 1:1 fit. And they’re beautiful too, with real leather side panel that’s functional.

Another update: Every shoe I've worn had left me with achy feet the following day after playing. I just assumed it's part of getting old, and it probably is to some extent, because I didn't have aching feet when I was younger regardless of what I wore. But surprisingly, I've noticed my feet barely ache after wearing these, even though the midsole cushioning is on the minimal side (but not uncomfortable!). Even the Nike Zoom GP Turbo with it's pillowy full length Zoom strobel made my foot sore. Maybe I'm super lucky and have feet that is shaped the same as the ones they used for building the last, but it's just crazy how this silhouette feels like it was custom built for me. The beefy midfoot shank helps a lot.

Okay mate it sounds like you are being paid by FILA now! Just kidding

Seriously though it sounds like it is time for you to stock up for the shoepocalypse now.
