Finally found my forehand problem...Any tips for fixing quickly?

I hit long too often. I use a semi-western grip, windshield wiper forehand, somewhat tight strings, small racket head and I hit long. I figured out that I'm "golfing" at the tennis ball.

Basically, "Your racquet head might be drooping below your hand at the point of contact. The long axis of your racquet should be horizontal on impact. If the head is much below your hand, you'll tend to "golf" the ball upward."

My hitting arm position goes wacko during my racket drop. It straightens out from the double-bend and I drop it was below my hand and that's why it's going long. The only reason why I figured this out is that I finally decided to record myself playing and it was hard to watch. I subconsciously think that I am doing the right thing but I really am not. I think I don't drop my racket head too low. I think I don't break my hitting arm position on my racket drop. But I really am. I think, "don't break your hitting arm position during the racket drop." But when I go to the videos of myself I still do it.

I guess I just have to keep at it for a while until it clicks, but do any of you guys have any tips to quickly fix this problem and/or has anyone gone through this before?

Thanks.

good lord your post is hard to read. anyhow, you need to can the ww fh and just hit a conventional topspin fh. a good way to develop the muscle memory is to take a 1lb weight and practice the swing path you want to emulate on the court. good thing about it is that you can do it in small confined areas, like a bathroom, so you can actually watch yourself while doing it.

oh yeah, if you're golfing the tennis ball, you're not bending your knees enough and you're also hitting too close to your body. you need to be hitting farther out to the side of your body so that you can extend your arm. if the ball is low, don't drop the racket, but bend your knees. squats and lunges are your friend.

Thats to complicated just start with a normal forhand and go from their. Dont try the double bend crap it only works for people who can use it effectively you no offence cannot.
