"...The 2015 calendar will feature 62 tournaments in 31 countries across six continents and, for the first time, will incorporate a three-week grass-court swing in the lead up to The Championships, Wimbledon.

The extended grass-court swing will be comprised of events in Stuttgart, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, London-Queen’s, Halle, and a new 48-draw event in Nottingham (previously held as a 28-draw in Eastbourne). Newport will continue to be held the week after Wimbledon. In addition, Queen’s and Halle will be re-categorised as ATP World Tour 500 events, bringing the grass-court season additional weight in the 52-week Emirates ATP Rankings with a 75 percent increase in points attributed to the surface."

I saw that but wasn't so excited because there is still no M1000 on grass.

Did you expect them to go from only 250s, directly to a M1000? I think if there would be a new M1000 on grass next year, we would've already heard something about it. Be happy with things going the right way and don't hold unrealistically high expectations.

But as merwy says:

Spot on.

As the thread title says, there's 'some more' emphasis on grass :)

Ok, my bad. I was under the wrong impression that Queens was already a 500 whereas it is (along with Halle) only being made 500 now.

that basically sums up my reaction.

I mean, there are mickey mouse tournaments after wimbledon, we dont need more, we need a grass masters.

Could be a step in that direction. Any more emphasis on that surface is good in my book.

What ? You want poor bug-ridden blister-covered Rafa to have to play one more mandatory event in his already over-crowded brutal schedule ?
How mean you fed fans are !

Yeah, at least thats a start, a 250, 500 and a masters before wimbledon would be good though.

This essentially is dumb. A bunch more tournaments on a surface nobody uses except at Wimbledon, where the courts are so crappy players can't stand on two feet. These warmups are just to make Wimby look classy again.

Grass is well and good but come on now.

Lol...best bit of trolling I've seen in this thread so far! :)

(At least, I HOPE you were trolling)!

Still pretty useless.. I want to see a proper grass season after FO with at least one masters and culminating in Wimbledon .. Right now it's pretty stupid .. You have a grand slam that does not allow players rest and proper preparation
