Firm Contour Grips - Gamma Hi-Tech?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me more about contour grips? It seems like the general consensus on the forums is that they are not great. I was thinking of trying one out.

I would like to get some advice regarding the best firm feeling contour grips. I have done some research and it seems like the Gamma Hi-Tech Contour may be my best bet, however I cannot find any info on the thickness and weight of the grip, so I am not sure what this grip would do to the balance / SW of my racquet. Any opinions would be appreciated!

Can anyone compare the Gamma Hi-Tech to the Gamma Hi-Tech Contour in terms of thickness, weight, and firmness?

Thanks!

I don't know if the Hi-Tech Contour is the same thing as the Hi-Tech Gel grip. Having said that, I have used the standard Hi-Tech grip for years and like it very much. I tried the gel version once and thought it was way too "pillowy" and knurled feeling, vs. the smooth surface of a regular grip. My $.02. Good luck.

Something you'll have to keep in mind while starting your contour grip is that the contours will have to line up with where your fingers will land. So you may want to do a dry run with the adhesive backing on to figure out where to start the bottom end of the grip.

Just an FYI on the Contour grip... Gosen makes a version that allows for narrower spacing between the contours. Maybe just a tad thinner too. I don't care for either myself.
