First EXO3s - Graphite and Ignite

I just recently put a replacement grip over my leather grip on my graphite. It gave it a lot more of a head-light balance and it felt like it had less power! Is this a fluke? Also, I'm wondering if the added weight would make my graphite close to the weight of the ignite...i might just have to buy one if thats the case.

Please post your opinions and thoughts :)

NO doubt you made it more headlight but the feel of less power can come from that change alone. Can't be 100% sure but now with more weight down the bottom, the hoop will feel more empty/lighter, resulting in a less powerful and heavier ball. OR the increase in weight has affected your swing speed.

I think I have to agree with everything you just said. I feel like I started swinging not as wildly because of the added weight, which added to the control of the racket that I never before had found. The EXO3 Graphite always seemed to have MEDIUM power rather than LOW. Thats why I never really cared for it that much after I got it. Now I'm wondering if I can manage the weight of the Ignite 95... which I believe has more control than the Graphite 100.

If you pushed the size of the grip up by a large margin (why would you put a new grip over an old one?) that could very well change your hitting pattern a bit due to some interference on your hand/arm. Very minor, but if the mechanics changed a bit, that would cause power/spin changes as well.

I put a new grip over the old one because I like a larger grip size and it makes for a really comfortable handle :)

Very interesting!!

I have just done the same with my Graphite 93. The grip 3 does seem small, so I carefully removed the sticky strip on a replacement grip and put that on instead of 2 overgrips. Now I have a nice cushioned feel in my hand, I haven't noticed much of a change in the head light feel or any change in power, the main thing I have noticed is that for some reason, although I measure up as a 4 3/8, going to a 4 1/2 seems to be much more comfortable on my wrist, arm and shoulder.

I feel the same way, except I can tell there's a change in balance, which is a good thing in my opinion! I have a Prince Durapro on top of a size 4 leather grip. Really soft like you said. I'm gonna start ordering rackets with a size 5 instead.

I actually used one of those Dunlop Biomimetic Tour replacement grips and they feel very similar to the Prince Durapro+ but are half the price.

I would always stay with a lower size base grip as it can always be built up, but if you like the feel of defined bevels then larger is the way for you.
