First Look from TW: Babolat Pure Strike!

I saw the 98 last night. Babolat deserves KUDOs in caps for the cosmetic. It is just plain stunning. I didn't hit with it, the folks at the pro shop told me it wasn't your father's Pure Drive...

Nonetheless, I remain happy and content with my 99S's

Michelle,
Given the swingweight of the tour would you compare it's power level to something like the blade 98 with it's similar swingweight?

Not sure what to think of the large "Strike" font on the side of the frame/throat area. But still looks nice.

Went to a local shops grand opening and there was a Babolat rep there. Held the Strike in my hand and it feels nice. Saw the pure controls as well. The strike is a really good looking stick in person. They're setting up a demo in a couple weeks and I'll be in on it I can't wait.

Where's this shop at? I see you're in NorCal.

And a detailed look at the Pure Strike 100.

And @D-money, Strike Tour vs. Blade 98 in terms of power, too similar to pick one over the other.

Hi Michelle,

I wonder if a leaded up Strike 100 would be a great racket competition to the the PD and APD.

Don´t you think?

You will benefit from the 100 sq and stability of the lead.

Are you guys going to open a separate thread for the Pure Control line?
When should we expect more feedback on these frames?

Local dealer has 305g in stock. Had a chance to to briefly hit with it today. Not bad, but I believe the tour would better for me. Good access to spin despite being a closed pattern.

Pure Control is at 62, the Pure Strike is at 66, and the Blade 98 18x20 is at 66...and my order would be just that with the Pure Control being the most comfortable, then the Pure Strike, then the Blade 98.

Just my two cents, but Andy and Granville agree with me on that as well ;)

Has there been any changes in the way TW measures strung flex of a frame
(Babolat RDC Ratings, I think) within last 5 years or so?

66 in 5 years ago should feel similar as 66 of now, right?

Thanks.

Questions concerning the Pure Strike Tour:

-How good are serves? (i.e.: pop, spin)
-How good are slices? (i.e.: court penetration)
-When is the release date?

Reason for those questions is that I'm looking for a better racquet than my IG Prestige MP in terms of serves while at least maintaining the same excellent level of volleys, slices and control of the Prestige MP. Don't get me wrong the IG PMP is a great racquet, but when i'm on my off day, my serves lacks pop and becomes very attackable. Bottom line, I want a more better serving version of the IG PMP. FYI, I did try the IG Prestige Pro, great serving racquet but the backhand slice isn't as penetrating as the MP.

Not sure if anyone from TW can answer this, but do you know when the reviews will be up for the Pure Strike line?

Thanks!

That's a pity given that it will have been out for a month outside the US by that time.

Any review timetable for December that is publishable?

SGV,

Reviews will be live when the racquet launches in January 2014.

Hello Brittany.

I believe many of us meaning to buy a racquet have been waiting for the Pure Strike launch and your reviews for this line, at least for the models that launch in December 2013 in Europe (Pure Strike 100, Pure Strike Tour and Pure Strike 18x20). It's a pity they won't be available till January.

Ditto here, sold some of my older sticks preparing the ground for some Strikes or Pure Storms. I do intend to demo, but I am also looking forward to the reviews
