Max wins it!!!. He has taken out Baghdatis in 4 sets. What a win for him. Tough for Baghdatis. He's a great player and plays well on hardcourts but another tough exiting for Baggy.

Anyone else notice the particularly boring commentator in this match? He seems to be high on Mirnyi's kool-aid, come on!

Noticed. Was irritating as hell....if he said something about Sampras one more time, about Baghdatis not lobbing or that he needed to show some emotions I was going to scream LOL Very repetitive commentating.

Max played a great match especially as one could see the fatigue creeping in, yet he stuck to his game plan. He had to because he is no Edberg who could win points from the baseline as well, so had to keep coming into net. 98/173 I think net points won. I really can't see him going very deep in singles though he's done it a couple of times in the past, but he's always fun to watch for the novelty of his game.

Baghdatis has the worst mentality i've seen in a tennis player.
This guy really digs his own grave and then falls in and covers himself with soil.
6-5 down on the fourth set 40-15 ahead, his serve having not be threatened the least during the fouth set but then what happens? Of course 40-40 (having served two double faults) and then match point down.
5-1 ahead in the tie break and then what happens? Of course he loses the next five points in a row and finally ends up losing the tie break and the match.
In tight situations his first serve percentage falls down between 0 and 10%!!
Not to mention the double faults.
Those who remember his recent match against Federer certainly will nod their heads in understanding.
His couch must be either an imbecile or someone who really doesn't care.
It is such a pity for such a talented player! He is such a frustration to watch.
The boy needs a good psychologist!! And fast!!

Baghdatis is french trained. Like other french players like Gasquet
and Tsonga, he can get hot or cold quickly. Sometimes he hits some amazing
shots like nothing just happened.

I agree Baghdatis is very talented but I wonder if he'll ever play
some mature game...

Very true. He is one of the best ball strikers in the game today. But he will let chances slip alot. He had the set in hand but lets 5 points go and there goes the match just like that.

very disappointing loss for marcos... :(
(he was obviously struggling a lot with his serve... i hope he cures this little kournikovite rapidly)

he had a relatively good draw after that... i would have liked to see him play blake in the 4th round, that would have been an interesting (first) meeting ! ;)
