First stringer-Silent Partner SC?

tonysk83

Semi-Pro
I have found a deal for a Silent Partner E-stringer SC for 175 shipped to my house. There is nothing wrong with it and it is in great condition.

This will be my first machine. My current stringer charges 10 dollars plus strings, so it will pay for itself after 17ish string jobs. I dont break strings that much, but I think I will enjoy the hobby of stringing my own racquets.

What do you guys think of this machine and price? Only thing that sucks is it wont have a warranty, but I think Ill be able to live with that. The machine got good reviews on string--forum .net. Not a lot of reviews to get a sense for it. Also SP as discontiuned the machine so I cant look at their site about it. I am not too big on the one fixed, one flying clamp.

Just looking for opinions.

I am not a big believer in these small electric stringers. For occasionally use, it might be fine, but so would a drop weight that will always work. For almost the same amount of money, you could get the SP Swing.

These cheap electric stringers have been discussed many times. I would do a search and see what others have to say. What would the tension device cost to replace?

The one fixed and one floating clamp really isn't a problem. Many people string with floating clamps and they do quality string jobs. Fixed has advandages, but they also cost much more...

Good Luck

I just read the reviews on the other site. I wouldn't say they were positive reviews. 2 out of 3 were very negative. Double check, I may be wrong...
