first time gut poly hybrid

i just tried gut poly (bb alu rough 16l mains, bde ralleye 16 crosses, my stringer messed up, i wanted gut mains poly xs but whatever.) i broke a synthetic and then switched to the racket with the gut poly set up. HOLY CRAP. it was unbelievable, right away my shots got more power and bounce, control, everything was just like 10 times better. theres no way of putting this. gut poly is the way to go!

gut was supposed to be strung slightley higher, but since the stringer screwed it up, ill bet he did it backwards, i told him 68 mains, 66 crosses, so unfortunately thats not gonna be good for the strings. neverthe less it was unbelievable, my friend (#1 singles and doubles in college,) could rarely get my first serve back.

i had bb alu rough in the mains and nat gut in the crosses it was ace but they break so easy unless u keep puttting the crosses back in becus the bb last for ages but then again they loose tension so it dont really matter to much

I reckon its a waste of gut, syn gut would be better probably being weather resistant even if a bit of power feel and comfort is sacrificed!

i dont think its a waste of got at all. i think syn gut feels better than a syn/poly hybrid, and evne that has nothing on a gut poly hybrid. i wonder what plain gut feels like. anyway, well see how long this lasts.

poly mains with gut crosses isn't a waste of gut, it plays very nice, much better than a poly/syn hybrid

If durability of the Cross finally hits you, try....

Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17.

I tried Forten Sweet 17, which is the softest Syn, but doesn't last.

Neither did Prince Syn. (with or without Duraflex)

I'd say Gosen on ALU almost feel as good as gut.

if i would have enough money to string it 7 times a month, i would have them too

yeah i usually go through multis once every 4 days or so, but i wanna see how long this lasts. lets just give it a whirl and see.
