Fischer Guru knowledge needed !

I’m not sure if Fischer does this but do their butt caps fit different size pallets like Head/Volkl do?

I remember with those frames, there were actually only 3 butt caps:

1/2

3/4

5/6

How does Fischer work ?

Will a size 4 Fischer butt cap accommodate both of the size 3/4 pallets?

Cheers

Hey Steve

Thanks for the reply, so you are using the newer black pallets where it is just 2 pieces yes ?

If so, I was talking about the older/rounder 3 piece pallets (2 half’s and a butt cap)

My question is can a size 4 butt cap from the older/rounder pallets fit into the size 3 older/rounder pallets ?

Got it, so just to be clear I am talking about these pallets/butt caps

No, I don't think the 4 will fit the 3 pallet. You probably wouldn't want it to. You'd want (or at least Fischer would have wanted) the butt cap to be proportional to the handle. Those pallet systems look interchangeable with the newer pallet system if you wanted to go that way.

I have tried interchanging the integrated pallet-butt cap system with the separate pallet / butt cap system, and I couldn't quite make it work out. They do fit — the holes for the screws are in the same location, as Steve Huff observed — but the integrated system is slightly longer (accounting for the integrated system's flat butt cap vs the separate system's domed butt cap), resulting in a space below the bottom of the hairpin, and the handle moving and squeaking during play.

My MPro No. One 105's (great racket, huh?), the black/red/green ones, used the separate system, like RacquetFreak's above. Steve Huff, are your 105's the later black/green/yellow No-Tolerance ones? I've been under the impression the integrated pallet-butt cap system didn't happen until they came along.

RacquetFreak, it looks like your pallet on the right might be a #5. If it is, PM me and I'll be thrilled to take it off your hands for whatever you paid for its replacement, or to trade it for my #4.

Actually, mine are the older, just red/black/green SL models. I can't remember if the original one I took off was the separate system, but I have both I think. I haven't had the grip off for so long. When I got the integrated ones brand new (still in the package), it had some foam that you were supposed to stick to the inside of the handle, but I never used it, and never noticed it. Of course, I use a grip and an overgrip. I'll have to look and see what I have. I know I was exchanging 3/8 for 1/2s, but I have both.
