Fischer in 2025 & beyond

How come I have missed this fabulous thread with great information? Big thank you @fritzhimself for the catalogues. They are exactly the things I have been missing for some years to really be sure of some manufacturing years, and layups. Basically, 1989-1993 is the time frame I am interested. There were some minor surprises. Apparently the Elliptic frame went from 3-pairs-of-mains to 4-pairs-of-main already in 1993. I thought it was a year later. I thought the "Elliptic <select word> Mid Plus" were the 1993 Elliptics.

Don't talk to me about Elliptics right now. Last Saturday I missed a unique (?) opportunity to buy a MIA 1991 ultra sexy Elliptic Vacuum in great condition and for barely nothing. Still pissed off about this.

Dear @NicoMK, in my opinion the 1990 is the second sexiest ever made after 1991. I could happily give away all the other Fischers to have the full 1991 set. (Well, at least the full Mannschafts-/Vereinsspieler set.)

You're right, the 1991 smokey PJs were absolutely outstanding. Btw the 1991 Vacuum Pro Plus is fine and used more than once in a while. What a sweet frame!

Considering 2025, last weekend I took my 1991 Twin Tec Mid Pro to court to respect my and my dad's tennis partner, who passed away recently. I know I played with exactly the same racket with him some 30 years ago.

Nice story. Memories are what make us feel alive too.

Don't talk to me about Elliptics right now. Last Saturday I missed a unique (?) opportunity to buy a MIA 1991 ultra sexy Elliptic Vacuum in great condition and for barely nothing. Still pissed off about this.

I've never actually gotten around to trying any of the elliptics, I love my Vacuum Pro 90 and M Pro 1 98 and would be interested in snagging some more over time, anywhere you recommend starting on the elliptics?

VP90 is really nice. I had an NOS sitting around for two years and I finally strung it up with 19G poly at 45 lbs. Great solid feel and really cuts through the air. I still prefer my Prestige Classic 2.0, but I’ll keep it for the occasional rally. Tried to sell it on FB but nobody wanted it lol; now I’m glad I didn’t.

Gotta love the Stan overgrip work there. Funny enough I just hit with both the VP90 and prestige classic 2.0 this last week, personally I find the Fischer far more forgiving and enjoyable than the PC 2, which comes off as harsher in comparison and less powerful. I ‘think’ I strung the PC 2 with Black Knight at 54 so maybe I just need to drop that down a pound or 10

Holy moly, 54 lbs is way too high for the PC 2.0, especially with full bed of poly. I don't go higher than 45 lbs with Cyclone 19. I might even try 40 lbs some time. The string bed is dense, so you don't lose control. At the same tension and same strings, I definitely find the PC 2.0 to have a larger sweet spot. The VP90 is more plush though when you hit dead center; it really has that ball-pocketing feel.
