Fischer M Comp UL 295gr

Hi,

Nice forum, im now in a change for a new racket, my last sticks were M Pro 1 no tolerance SL with leather grip, i also have a diablo mid that i like, have also owned M-fil 300, aerogel 300 tour, aerostorm. But now im interested in m comp because its little stiffer then m-pro, that i liked but sometimes i want it to be a little stiffer. Best racquet to serve with. But in a deutsch website they only have the m-comp left in UL 295 gram, but i was interested in the UL anyway so. I will just add a overgrip under a leather grip and i have around 10 gram extra. And some lead like 10 and 2a clock in the racquet.

But has anyone tested the M comp UL 295 gram, also tested the M Pro sl? Difference? a leaded UL 295 m comp would play like a SL 330 gram with lead? It would only be like 8-9 points headlight instead of 6 if i put more in the grip, advantage?

I think i will lead it so it would be 10-15 gram easier then m comp sl verison.

and strung it quite low, 52 lbs with MSV focus hex 1.23. What do you think.

While the thought of a lighter player's racket sounds good, 295 is really light IMO. Years back I bought some Fischer Pro Extreme's in the UL (295 grams unstrung) weight and thought I would love the more manueverable stick. Unfortunately it did not have enough mass to hold up against the kind of big hitters that someone using a player's stick might face.
The 330 gram Fischer M Comp is surprisingly manueverable and easy to swing for its static weight. My guess (I have not hit with it) is that a 295 gram M Comp would be a bit "flimsy" and underpowered (especially considering its flex).
From my experience, flexible and light translates to extremely underpowered and pushed around. Flexible and heavier make for a solid frame. Just my 2 cents (BIG fan of Fischer products BTW).
I wish Fischer would have brought over the heavier Pro No. 1 FT model a couple of years ago instead of the lighter one, a marketing mistake IMO.
Just like the Progressor NT, add 20-25 grams and I bet it is a phenomenal racket for stronger players.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

Yes i have been worried about that to, that it would feel flimsy. I think i like a heavier rack because i swing my diablo without problem.

But dont you think it would be as stable as the SL versionen if i put a leather grip on it and overgrip (+15gram) and some lead in the head (10gram). It would be 320 gram unstrung then. And maybe more headlight then the sl version?

My weak part is my forehand my 2 handed backhand is steady as a rock, i like to take a huge spin with my forehand and not going throw the hit so good but i just need to work on the motion.

I tried the Diablo mid a while ago and have a heavier M-Comp right now. I'd bet that the regular (heavier) Fischer would be fine for you, since my memory of the Diablo is that it was even heavier and also not very head-light in balance.

My Fischer is very mellow and low powered with 16 gauge synthetic gut strung in the low 50's and if you try that lighter version of the M-Comp, I don't know that you'd even want to string it with a poly. If it's similar to the heavier version, it may have no life to it at all with a lower powered string.

My guess is that even with the mods you are suggesting and weighting it up it will not feel as good as the heavier version in stock form. It still won't have quite enough mass in the head and not in all the right spots.

Okay, because what i would like would be a M comp weighthing as the M Pro.

If i add leather grip and a overgrip under it so it remains gripsuize the weight goes upp 10 gram more and the weight is over 350 gram for the heavy version. May be problem with the serve then, i remember i had problem serving with aerostorm, but back then i couldnt serve at all so it was maybe not the weight. I could do more heavy lifting then. :)

But i may not be so easy that if i lead it up it will not be tossed around and more power.

Sounds like the heavy version is the way to go, i saw a used ones here in sweden for sale.
