Fischer Pro No 1 old version silver/red!

Rookie
Hi!

I need a good baseline stick for the upcoming claycourt season and i definetly fell in love with the Fischer frames!

No i do not have any idea about the new/old Pro No 1 rackets (not the FT!)...

is there any difference between the currently sold black/red modell, the previous black/red/white modell and the silver/red!

The prices differ significantly here in Europe: the newest is around 120 Euro, the oldest modell (silver/red) is about 60 Euros! What shall i do??

What do you think about the Extreme FT?

The VT Pro 98, Pro #1 hasn't changed at all! I recall a sliver and red "Pro Classic" from the late 90's without the 25-23-20 taper, "power feel," system. That one was a thin straight beam, 21mm and braided graphite, in a 98 (or 90) head and is very different! So if the racket has the taper and is a member of that VT Pro 98 lineage, the color is of no importance. In your neckof the woods they also sell a 10 ounce tweener version of the Pro #1, so be careful. In this country Fischer is a cult and you can play a month of Sundays before you see anyone with this marque in a hand. I find this racket underpowered, but can understnd how one could like the special plush feel. Iif you aren't a really strong player -- don't deceive yourself -- the Extreme could be a big mistake.
It has no taper and is 1/4 inch longer and 12 oz. (342 grammes) strung! A pure control racket that gives you nothing and takes away nothing and is really designed for elite players, a club to which I certainly don't belong. Most of those who use classic Fischers will advise to string at lowish tension. Hope this helps. Tchuss.

stick w/ the original pro #1, and i like the silver/red better than the black/red/white ones. i think they're slightly heavier, like 330g instead of 320g. felt and looked better to me.

Kreative, both versions of the Pro N°1 (Red/silver and Red/Black/white) where available in 3 weight class : 330g - 320g - 285g, and except for the paintjob the 330g red/silver Pro N°1 is identical to the 330g black/red/white. Of course, comparing the 320g red/silver N°1 to the 330g black/red/white N°1 is simply like comparing apples to oranges.

I am also interested in the Pro # 1, but only the newest non FT Black/Red 330g unstrung version. And yes, it hasn't changed since VT Pro 98. It seems that the 330g version is not available in the US, but correct me if I am wrong, anyone knows where I can get them? Does TW still carry them? Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance.

A player from my club bought online his red/black 330g Pro N°1 from a webstore based in Canada, situated in Montreal, I can't remember the adress or the URL, and I don't see the player who bought the racquets anymore, so I can't give you more help, but I'm sure that a quick search with a good search engine will do the job for you (probably not a ton of tennis webstores based in Montreal).

I know which store u are talking about. I called them some time last yr and they said they don't have the 330g version, only the 320g version is available. But I should try again. Thx,.

spinbalz, ok, thx for the clarification. I do remember something like that thou when I tried the red/silver pro 1 it was 330g, and when i tried the black/white/red it was only 320g. I'm guessing (from the other posts) that the 330g black/red version wasn't available in the US, therefore I wasn't really clear on it.

Thanks for your inputs! I ordered two of the 320g red silver frames. I will try them and decide afterwards. Maybe i should rather go on court an work harder with my prince warrior, which fits my style of game perfectly before switching to a totally different racket! As many people claim the warrior is a perfect spinracket and should work well on clay. What do you think?

No doubt the Warrior is legendary, and you could certainly try weighting it up. Personally, I prefer the Pro No. 1, though most folks will tell you I have not sampled the true Pro No. 1 because mine are the 320g and not the 330g. Though I am a lower-level player, I really enjoy the Pro No. 1 and did not have any trouble adjusting to the weight, though admittedly my pace is not what it was. I think you will enjoy your purchase.

tschevap! Sorry, this is off topic, but can you still get dunlop 100g's? I have been searching for one in the U.S., but I can't find one! Email me please!

I think you should demo the Pro # 1 330 grams. If you think you have problems with your balls flying long with the warrior, the pro number One (330 grams) will probably help you keep it in since it is a very low power racket. I had one but I preferred my Volkl tour 10 mp becuase it was better in most of the aspects of my game except the serve.

330g VT98 Pro with the taperered beam is the same frame as a red/silver 330g Pro #1. The layup of both is graphite + ceramic (silicon carbide) fiber. Any 320g Pro #1 regardless of cosmetic is a totally different playing/feeling frame (apples to oranges). The current Pro #1 shares only the mold + string pattern with the old 330g's - even the layup is different (has fiberglass instead of ceramic fiber).

Between the older VT98 and the new Pro #1 which plays softer and more flexible? I would think the Pro #1's (all versions) would be more "buttery" with the fiberglass, but that's not the impression I'm getting here?

the old VT98 had much more ceramic in them and had a totally diff feel than the Pro1. The Pro1's are like hitting with a pillow within the sweetspot. the Pro1's are only avalable in the 320gm version in the US as far as I know, and they really havenet changed much over the last 2 or 3 cosmetic changes..while they may still say SIC Ceramics on them, you sure cant feel the stiffness of ceramics in these frames anyt longer

I used to have both black/red and silver/red Pro 1 290g. I feel that the black/red version is softer and has more feel. Those who like baseline game may prefer the sliver/red one. I do agree with that within the sweetspot, the stick is pillow soft.

I have all of them the Vt pro 98 and pro 1 red and silver 330g string tension is 57-55! 2004 pro 1 320g string tension 50-70 I notice the new one is more flexible so i check the RDC the new one is 61 and the old pro1/vt pro 98 is 64! same thing happened to Volkl C10 pro the old one is 56 now there 63!

looking for the silver/red model?
