I finally found it! I have heard so much good about the red-silver version of the Fischer Pro No 1 racquet so i decided to track one down and buy it, no matter what price (..well, almost.. )

I found one in really good shape in southern europe and today it arrived.

Looks really good i must say.

320 grams pure Austrian engineering art:

Have not test-played it yet, but it will be really interesting to see how it plays compared to my other classics from the same year.

What beam is that? Not tapered beam, no? I have one with this pj but believe it's an earlier version (VT Pro 98, is it?) under the silver/red cosmetics... it's actually among the best frames I've EVER hit with. A very special frame indeed... it's got a tapered beam however.

Just to add a bit more info after checking my notes...

My frame is almost certainly a VT98 Pro or 1st gen Pro No. 1 - it doesn't matter which one exactly as they are the same mold and virtually the same racket beneath the different pj's.

As i said, a very special frame indeed.

Congratulations with your purchase. Does it have the square grip shape ? Does it also have the tapered beam ?

Thanks for the pics btw. If I you want/can post more then that is highly appreciated.

Surprised to see it has a 306 mm balance. Thought Fischer used 310 mm or 320 mm in most cases.

The grip is pretty square. Feels the same like my other red-black pro no 1´s that i played a short short period last year.

Will upload a bunch of photos from all angles tonight. Any special "wish" or detail u want to see?

IIRC the red-silver was the stiffest of the Pro No 1 series. I would love to try that one.

I might actually sell it later. I always buy racquets, mostly to try out and see how it feels and then sell it. I am so extremely satisfied with me current Wilson PSC 6.1 Kfactor paintjobs and now i have also got used to the unstrung weight of 347 grams. The raquets i buy now is just because im a racquetoholic and needs a racquet delivered once in a while ;)

Hi Hankenstein, Could you post a pic of the shape of the butt. I would like to see how squarish Fischer grips used to be.

thanks a lot

I own 3 Fischer's myself but they have the new (more rectangular) grip shells.
