Fitness Club Help

I am a 51 year very highly ranked singles player.

I just joined a Fitness Club (Fitness 19) and I need a little guidance. I would
like to get some suggestions for a good workout.

I am 6'2" and about 195 lbs. with two bad knees.

I plan to do cardio 3 days a week and weights 2 days. I am looking for
help for a one hour workout for each disipline.

Cardio- They have at least 5 kinds of machines:Treadmill,Bicycle, starimaster etc. What is good for building up stamina on a tennis court? Should I do
20 minutes on 3 machines, or 30 minutes on 2 machines. I could even use
help on a sugeested setting, like for the treadmill(speed, inline).

Weight training- They have every machine imagineable plus free weights. I
haven't lifted weights since high school.
Should I just try every machine ? How many reps should I start with? How
much weight should I start with.

If I had a plan for an hour I know I could stick to my five days a week. My
problem is just walking around and not know what to use.

If you are thinking that I should use their personal trainer for help I plan to,
but it is going to be several weeks before he gets to me , and I want to start
now

Your help on this would very greatly appreciated.

Talk to a personal trainer at the club. Tell him you weak areas and design a program around that.

Well, if your like me you'll get tired of going to the gym 5 days per week.

I combine my cardio and strength training by riding the Schwinn Aerdyne bike for about 20 minutes and then doing a rapid, with little rest between stations, wieght machine circuit and a few free weight movements. My choices are core, legs and upper body. I do 2 sets on most as I am not trying to get bulk but strength and general conditioning.

It's not that complicated to pick the stuff that will help your tennis game. Think about the movements in your tennis game and pick exercise that are similar. If they have cable machines that really good.
