Flair it tool

A few years back I purchased a flair it tool to flare grommets. I worked pretty well especially in those new grommets that have a tendency to come out when stringing a new set for 1st time. A couple years back someone borrowed it and I never did get it back.
Question is, does anyone here know where I can purchase another?

I think they are (and have been) out of production for a few years--might want to check the bay.

For an inexpensive flaring tool go on to the auction site and search for "FLARING TOOL (TOP) PIPE SIZER". All you need is something on the bottom to put the flaring tool on so the grommet does not push out.

If you'd like one today you can probably pick one up at Home Depot, ACE, or any heating and AC or plumbing supply store. They are used to flare the end of tubing.

But all you really need is the clamp part.
I did like that flair it tool I purchased about 7 years ago. Was just the right size and worked well. It is hard to believe it is now over triple in price since I purchased that last one.
(I know things increase in price over time)
Only time my stringing prices went up was for string prices themselves increasing over that time. Maybe time for a labor rate adjustment.

I don't think it would be hard to make one with a C-Clamp. Certainly much cheaper than buying one.

Jim I was meaning to ask. When you used the tool you never had to heat up the tool or the grommet did you?

Never heated up tool or grommet.
I can see where a C clamp modified can work, but getting the proper size flare end on the clamp can be an issue, where this tool was all set to go.

Just a sidenote. I went to HD to get an awl. I had broken the tip off of one of the very oldest ones we had. HD had ONE awl in the whole store! Of course it was too large for grommets. I was shocked.

I tried that a long time ago too. You don't need an awl anyway.

I also am in search of the flare-it grommet tool. If anyone has any information they can share, can you please send to me at your convenience?

Thanks
