Flex and spin

I've heard it argued both ways many times over.
Many say a flexible racquet cups the ball for longer dwell time and we have Babolat racquets which are spin machines but all very stiff.

All else being equal, does a flexible racquet help produce more spin or a stiffer one.

spin comes from brushing against the ball instead of plow through. the open pattern creates the best spin, also the rounder the head is the more space available to brush the ball and hence create more spin. stiff racquets generate more power than flex racquet. for APD it's the head shape that helps to create the spin.

Depend cause all racket are build for purpose, like the Head Luiqd Metal Flex Point Radical its flex but yet its has a density string pattern of 18/20. Its really doesnt matter as long as you can put the spin in it.

For me I have found that a flexier frame with a good Poly spin string offers the best spin potential. Ball sees to fly off the frame too fast in a stiff racket.

The common wisdom is that flexier frames are better for spin [all other things being equal].

The reasons for this could probably get technical, but basically, the very slight 'give' of the racquet allows more dwell time, which theoretically allows for more drag across the ball, meaning more spin.

I think there's another good reason, which is that the ratio of power : spin is lower (IE the smaller amount of natural power makes it look like the ball is spinnier) because flexier racquets are almost undeniably less-powerful [all other things being equal].
