I think you're assuming that somehow the Flexpoint will be better than the LM Prestige. Newer does not necessarily mean better when it comes to tennis racquets. In fact, the opposite is usually true. Older racquets tend to be better than newer racquets. That's why the better players still use the Prestige Classic which came out over 15 years ago.
BTW, Safin will continue to use the Prestige Classic even when the Flexpoint comes out. He is currently using a LM Prestige paintjob. When the Flexpoint comes out he will simply switch to a Flexpoint paintjob. The racquet underneath the paint will still be the same Prestige Classic that he's used for over 10 years. Same is true of most other pro players on tour, e.g., Agassi, Federer, Hewitt, etc.
