Man. If you're a spectator you're already paying top dollar for Roger's matches, and then it's over and done with in 45 minutes or less. Zero sum game.

Slick racquet work. It looks like a squash shot. He has made reference to playing squash when talking about 'real tennis' so it looks like he learned a few handy squash shots for tennis in those squash games with his dad.

'Growing up in Basel I always loved squash and I played a lot with my dad,' Federer confided, 'so this doesn't seem as weird as I thought. Walking onto this court with its roofs and its galleries is like stepping into history and although the floor is lightning fast, I think I played pretty good.'

Wow, how fast he runs at 36 years ..

Federer's said it himself, he plays much shorter matches than his fellow players on average. Over his entire career this must have added up to some serious "mileage" difference. I wouldnt be suprised if the likes of Nadal, Djok and Murray have all probably twice the mileage on their bodies than Federers.

Not accurate. However I can imagine Nadal having 20-25% more mileage on his body right now compared to Fed. Murray simply hasn't played enough matches. Djoker's legs look fine, his elbow is f-ed up right now.

Such a great performance from Fed. I know he was just playing a journeyman but Im not sure if Ive ever seen that level of perfection on pretty much every shot, along with the easy movement and relaxed attitude. Scary…seems like the guy is he is improving or better than ever.

exact same match would have taken rafa at least 1h30min to complete... towel,bounce,bounce,bounce,swipe,bounce,bounce,bounce,scratch,sniff, bounce,bounce,bounce...

Not just that with his style of play of dragging out points it would have got 2 hours. Im not knocking his style it works bug you cant similtaneously blame injuries and the tour for any problems and then play like that

I can't find lifetime stats, but managed to find this chart from 2015 US Open which gives a decent idea.

If we take the average of these four events we get the following distances ran per match:

Federer = 1.945km per match
Nadal = 2.5875km per match
Djokovic = 2.3825km per match
Murray = 2.7275km per match

Now lets multiply those by total ATP tour level matches played as per current ATP website to give us a rough idea...

Federer = 2701.605km
Nadal = 2750.5125km
Djokovic = 2263.375km
Murray = 2288.3725km

Nadal > Federer > Murray > Djokovic.

Not bad at all considering Federer has played a lot more matches than either of the other 3, and he is half a decade older.

Oh, you didn't know? Fedr just entered prime. He'll peak in a couple years. Then watch out tour! ;)

Honestly nothing surprises me about Fedr anymore.

He could play a full match from the bench, telepathically controlling his racquet Jedi-style and it would not shock me.

Noticed that too just from the highlights. He's really stepping into his shots. You can see the confidence in the body language. It's just flowing out of him.
