Murray or Kei?

Vinolas was in a master final this season and beat Murray on clay. What has Kuznetsov done? Klizan? Nishi? Night.
.
everybody's grandmother has beaten Murray this year, he wasn't even top-20 in the race, when ARV beat him. Nishi at his best, which he showed about 20-30 % of the time today, can play with and beat anyone. ARV - not so much. A very, very poor man's Rafa.

Case in point for Vero's corrupt self-serving logic: she's bringing up Murray's pre-RG serve game % as if it should suggest that Murray would be trashed by return-bots like Diego. Utterly meaningless. Murray came from injury and served complete trash through the tune-ups. At RG it's a different story altogether. Through the first four rounds at RG, his second serve win % was significantly higher than his total serve point win % from the tune-ups. That really tells you all you need to know. Murray. Second serve. (it was 62% BTW. Delicious)

If one player beats another who is on the same level as he is then that is a significant achievement for that player.
So in the league of current sucky players, Murray has managed to suck less. Good for him. (And good for him as well he did not have to face an in form player instead)

Well, he has managed to suck less than Djokovic anyway and today he did face a player as in-form as he is! On Friday, he'll face a player likely even more in-form than he or Djokovic is and maybe even more in-form than Nadal or Thiem!

Which is why he is so lucky that all the top guns were in the other half of the draw. And also why he would not have survived a tough draw in 1st week most likely.

Lol...because he could not possibly have survived the might of Granollers and Sousa or even ARV whom he got his revenge against in Barcelona recently? He got a tough draw in the 1st week and survived it at least up until the semi-finals. Djokovic got humiliated by a player he humiliated only a couple of weeks ago and so couldn't get past the quarters. That wasn't bad luck, that was carelessness! :D:D

Dream on!!! :)

He would likely not have survived several tough clay courters in a row. And that's definitely not what he got. Of course that's a moot point now...

Most players these days can play well on any surface. There are very few specialists unlike in the old days. Even a hardcourt specialist like Isner could take clay god Nadal to 5 sets at RG (which he did a few years ago). A tough player is a tough player. End of.

Yeah well, there are still players who arrive at RG with better clay form (and results) than others. And luckily enough for Murray, he didn't have to play them :D

But if he did, he would likely have had exactly the same results against them as the tough players he faced who did not happen to have had as good results on clay. :)

Yes Vinolas was even more of a threat than Schwartz and both of them were in Djoko's quarter. My point.

LOL at how far you've sunk as a Djokovic fan that you are considering Vinolas and Schwartzman threats for Djokovic! Those guys are journeymen of the highest order. Come on! Murray had to face Nishikori who is a much more dangerous opponent than Vinolas or Schwartzman. Try to be reasonable.

Journeymen who reach master final? I call that clay specialist. And with a lot better form than Kuz or Klizan.
