Murray or Delpo?

So close yet so far. That ball on the forehand at deuce really fooled him. And cost him. Great dropper and lob combo from Muzz. Again

player who is capable of stopping them doing everything they want to do

A lot has to do with the players stopping themselves through lously, sloppy play. No way would prime Murray be mugging up his breaks or be stopped in anyway against this shocking version of Del Potro and vice versa. Murray will need to improve if he wants a hope of winning the entire thing even if it is one of the worst generation of players in open era history.

I've seen Cilic's matches, and he's been brutally efficient in all of them. Amazing he's playing so well on the dirt, probably the best I've seen him play in a long while.

Haven't seen Cilic in this tournament but his first 2 opponents were very easy and today he beat a 35-year old Lopez on his last legs. If Anderson recovers physically it's a 50/50 match.
Well it just took Anderson five sets to beat Edmund so I can't imagine his form is that fantastic.

Guys, I'm not following Delpo enough. Is he making any real progress over the past 12 months or so? I feel that he always finds a way to lose.

It's not over yet in Paris, but I'm talking in general, not this particular match.

Yeah, he's been in great form on clay this year.

But so has Anderson. Wins against Ferrer, Berlocq, Gasquet, Lorenzi, pushed some of the top players hard (Zverev, Nishikori) and even had a respectable loss to Nadal in Barcelona 6-3 6-4.

I'm still not sure about Cilic's FO run because he's had mediocre opposition at best while Anderson beat Edmund who's on the rise and Kyrgios in the previous round (even if it's a tanking Kyrgios - you still need to get Kyrgios to a point when he feels he needs to put a lot of effort to win).

As I said, if Anderson recovers it's gonna be a FUN match.

I can understand that. I personally am a fan of Murray, but it can frustrating when he does himself a disservice.

It show how much of an understanding of court dimensions he has.
he really does. Super high tennis IQ. I mean, I do like him to some extend, but he gets too defensive for my liking. Would also love to see him more at the net as he's got excellent hand skills once he gets there.

Listen to the non applause, when Muzz won the set by the way. Crowd is 100 % behind Delpo, but it ain't enough. Best Murray since Doha or 2016? I think so.
