Until this week, Fonseca was registered in the Skopje Challenger, in North Macedonia, which is played on clay courts and starts in the same week as the Roland Garros qualifying. However, the Brazilian removed his name from the event list. His calendar, for now, is set up as follows:

June 3 - Challenger 125 from Surbiton

June 10th - Nottingham Challenger 125

June 17 – Challenger 125 from Ilkley

June 24 - Wimbledon (qualifying)… - Veja mais em

"João Fonseca's team was grateful for CBT's initiative in requesting the wild card (invitation) to Roland Garros, but due to a technical decision, they chose to train on grass and focus on the Wimbledon season tournaments. They have already informed CBT, which also informed the French Tennis Federation" , replied CBT

His groundstrokes are already overpowered. It is wise to play on grass and focus on serve and volley.

He can't play RG qualies anyway he's outside the cut off. Good move imo he can start his grass experience in weaker challengers and have a good chance to make it through Wimbledon qualies.

I feel really good about his team. What they did with his technique fundamentals and attitude on the court in impressive.
The only thing I'm really concerned about is ON failing to give him iconic giving kits.
