Hey,
I'm back to my old favorite Slazenger Wimby UltraVis balls
I've tried them all - the best competition came from: Tecnifibre X-One Special Edt. (better than the Tecnifibre Red), Babolat VS, Babolat Team, Wilson Australien Open, Dunlop Roland Garross and Dunlop Fort Elite.
But in the end I must give the edge to the best tennis ball ever made - Slazenger Wimbledon UltraVis
I only have one complaint about the Wimby UltraVis balls and that is the fact that the felt on the ball seems to puff up a bit too fast, but the ball still retains the pressure and feel, so I just play on with the same set of 8 balls for 1 hour extra, and they begin to feel like almost brand new again
I get anything from 4-6 good solid hard hitting playing hours out of two 4-ball cans of Slazenger Wimby UltraVis, only Babolat VS and Tecnifibre X-One Special Edt. can compete with that kind of durability, but I prefer the overall feel of the Wimby UltraVis balls just that little bit better.
No tennis ball is as visible as the Wimby UltraVis, especially great if you play indoor or if you - like me - often play outdoor at night under artificial lightning....the Wimby UltraVis ball just seems much easier to see during the night and also in direct sunlight.
The Wimby UltraVis ball also is the only ball, which plays very solid on all surfaces - I like it on outdoor slow red clay, on indoor faster artificial red rubber clay, on fast indoor hardcourts and on outdoor slower hardcourts too. Only 2 other balls are almost as versatile - the Dunlop Roland Garross (made for red clay, but very good on all surfaces) and the Tecnifibre X-One Special Edt..
The Dunlop Fort Elite ball is simply too fast on indoor courts and is not durable enough on outdoor red clay in my view.
I hope Slazenger, which is owned by the same company as Dunlop, will keep the production quality up - unfortunately Dunlop balls of lately, have been going down the hill quality wise.......
As long as the Slazenger Wimby UltraVis balls are made to the same high quality standards as of now, I will stay loyal to this favorite tennis ball of mine.
Just bought 48 4-ball cans of this excellent ball, so I'm fully covered for the next year now !!
