For how many slams will Sinner and Alcaraz extend their duopoly?

They're currently on six in a row between the two of them. How far will they extend that?

Here are the other recent two-player streaks that reached six or more. I have listed the player who won the slam that started the streak first.

Djokovic + Alcaraz = six (Wimbledon 2022 through US Open 2023)
Nadal + Djokovic = eight (Roland Garros 2018 through Australian Open 2020). N.B. US Open 2020 was prior to Roland Garros 2020.
Federer + Nadal = six (Australian Open 2017 through Roland Garros 2018). N.B. RG 2018 in both streaks.
Djokovic + Wawrinka = six (Australian Open 2015 through Roland Garros 2016).
Nadal + Djokovic = nine (Roland Garros 2010 through Roland Garros 2012).
Nadal + Federer = six (Roland Garros 2008 through Wimbledon 2009).
Nadal + Federer = 11 (Roland Garros 2005 through US Open 2007).

Back in the day, Seles and Graf reached 13 (Australian Open 1991 through Australian Open 1994). Navratilova and Evert got to 15 (Australian Open in December 1981 through Wimbledon 1985).

It could go for a while, tbh.

I really do think Wimbledon is the only sort of unknown quantity, because Sinner has yet to really show he can do it there, and Djokovic is still tough to argue as second best in the world on the surface as of right now (Medvedev with back-to-back semi-final losses to the eventual champion is the only other dude in the picture).

While Alcaraz is still not consistent on hard courts, I have a hard time seeing anyone but him beating Sinner in Australia or New York. Right now it is tough to see much competition at Roland Garros either. Musetti and Djokovic seem closest, and they don't really seem that close.

2023 zverev took sinner OUT like trash by outlasting. Sinner has stamina issues. No one has defended uso recently.

Sinner is top favorite but not unbeatable. Only guy I had as super favorite this year were sinner in ao and raz in rg.

Love the rafole domination between 2010 to 2012.

Also add the guy who broke the runs as well.
Djokovic + Alcaraz = six (Wimbledon 2022 through US Open 2023) - SINNER

Nadal + Djokovic = eight (Roland Garros 2018 through Australian Open 2020). N.B. US Open 2020 was prior to Roland Garros 2020. - THIEM, TECHNICALLY. THOUGH ONE WASN'T THERE AND ONE WAS DQ'D.

Federer + Nadal = six (Australian Open 2017 through Roland Garros 2018). N.B. RG 2018 in both streaks. - THE ROOF

Djokovic + Wawrinka = six (Australian Open 2015 through Roland Garros 2016). - MURRAY

Nadal + Djokovic = nine (Roland Garros 2010 through Roland Garros 2012). - FEDERER

Nadal + Federer = six (Roland Garros 2008 through Wimbledon 2009). - DEL POTRO

Nadal + Federer = 11 (Roland Garros 2005 through US Open 2007). - DJOKOVIC

No no .

Murray won Wimbledon 2016

Not related to the original question but fun fact is that to match Novak Slam record Alcaraz would need to win after turning 22 yo the same numbers of slams won by BOTH Federer and Nadal after they turned 22yo (19 slams in total)

Us open is the toughest slam to win , even more during the olympics games. I mean Roger and Novak were super bookmakers favorites in USO for years and yet they only collectively managed to win 9 USO's compared to 16 AO's combined. This is no statistical coincidence in my book.

A lot of epicdal in here :D

There will be a third man at some point. People thought Fedal were ruling with an iron fist and their domination seemed like it was going to last for a very long time until it met a very abrupt end.

That third man is Draper - I predict he will win either USO/ Wimbledon first. I don’t know which one but it will be one of those

2003-2010 is quite a long period. Similarly, let us hope Sinneraz can do from 2024-2031.

No chance Carlos/Sinner have that type of Big 3 dominance. Sinner can't win off hards and Carlos can't win on hards. . Within the next 2-3 slams someone other than them will win it. May be as soon as Wimbledon we have a new slam winner. Boobylik, MUGper or Djoker. Could also see someone other than them winning in Flushing as well if Sinner doesn't regain his confidence

There is no need for a 3rd ATG as long as they are surrounded by their great players/normal champions (Safin,Delpotro,Wawrinka,Kuerten) or upset makers that can play great here and there (Nalbandian, Soderling09, Tsonga08). I see nothing of this at the moment. Rublev,Deminaur,Fritz are TOP10 intruders that should be ranked between top 10 and Top 20 in an healthy tennis ecosystem. Fonseca and Fils will perhaps make the field decent on clay in years to come. There was a krajicek, a Rafter and An Ivanisevic for peak Sampras on grass ,but there seems to be nothing for Alcaraz in the short term on grass maybe except sinner and draper. There are only 2 alpha male lions in the savannah right now and not onlythat but there are no others lions challenging them , there is no decent hyena pack around to challenge and apply pressure on them for territory and food (slams and weeksn°1)

There is no question that Alcaraz and Sinner are the superior lions right now.

But history has shown us that can all change very quickly.

Djokovic was having his worst year in 2010, more double faults than aces, no big titles, zero top ten wins until nearly 9 months into the season....the following year goes 10-1 against Fedal.

In sport things can change very quickly. Lets not forget, staying healthy is very important.
