For those who tried: MSV Focus Hex Soft vs. MSV Swift vs. Yonex PTP

Semi-Pro
For those of you who tried all these strings, would you please compare these two for spin, tension maintenance and comfort:

  • MSV Focus Hex Soft
  • MSV Swift
  • Yonex Poly Tour Pro
I played with MSV Focus Hex Soft and found it comfortable, great on tension maintenance and spin but very muted.

I played with Swift but only in hybrid and in 80-90F+ degrees. Found it very soft.

Please share your experiences and thoughts on those properties, compared to each other.

I've only played with YPTP and thought it was ok. I prefer a thinner gauge stiffer poly. I have focus hex which is stiffer and that is great string. Are you looking for comfort? If so, you can hybrid with solid core syn gut.

I see that many put PTP in EZONE 98. I have MSV Focus Hex Soft, which on “paper” (the TWU string db) looks similar in many characteristics to PTP, so I am looking to see if they are similar and if Swift falls somewhere in between.

I have MSV FH, FHS and Swift. Call me cheap but I love MSV strings.
MSV FH is my favorite too but it might be little dead and stiff for when it gets colder …

So, given that people like comfort and feel of PTP, especially in EZONE 98, I am trying to see if I have a match in some MSV string.
(PTP + EZONE might just be a brand and influencer brainwash).

Hello, you won't find what you're looking for at MSV. The MSV Ultra is, for me, the best string from them because the gauge is thicker. There is a real consistency and an energy return that is close to PTP but only on the performance and not the clear sensation. The envelope is not the same and you will only find that at PTP. The MSV Soft is not energetic and a higher tension works better.
