Hey Troy,

As always, great review from you and the staff regarding the new 18x20 Blade. Just got a quick question, what kind of modifications did you make to make it more head light?

How many grams did you add to the handle and did you guys add a leather grip by any chance?

Thanks!

Changing the balance is fairly easy. If you have a racket that is 4 HL (33 cm) and weighs 323 g (like the 18x20 Blade) it will create a force of 10,659 gcm (weight times balance.) If you want to change the balance you must know how much weight you want to to add or where you want to add weight to change the balance. Let’s assume you want to add 5 g and change the balance to where it is 1 pt more HL, in that case your result will be 32.7 cm balance and 328 g. This will create a force of 10,726 gcm which is an increase of 67 gcm. 67 gcm / 5 g = 13.4 cm. Add your 5 g at 13.4 cm. That is about the equivalent of adding a 5 g overgrip to your racket, or about half the equivalent of adding a heat shrink tube.
