Forehand backswing question for BB (and whoever else)

Hi BB and anyone else whod like to help:
Just a few quick question about the forehand backswing. I use a SW windshield wiper forehand. I have heard on the backswing your palm should face the ground and that it keeps it relaxed. Is this all true? Should I keep my palm facing the court on the backswing? Also, my backswings a loop, and i notice on my backswing ill somewhat pull the racquet down into position/slot. When I'm making my backswing, should I let gravity naturally let the racquet drop down into position, or the "slot"?

. On my semiwestern forehand grip, should my fingers all be close together? I kinda have a trigger finger type hold on it, index finger a little more out than the others. Does it even matter? I've watched some pros and I notice on the forehand all their fingers are right by each other.

I also have one more question about the backhand slice. I use a continental grip. I just noticed today in a picture that Roger Federer was using an eastern grip, and yet I also see some of him using standard continental grip. Should I add using an eastern forehand grip on slice?

And sigh, sorry. Just keep on thinking of new questions by the minute. On the forehand backswing, should i **** my wrist at all? Or should It be straight through the backswing until the forward swing?

Thanks alot BB and anyone else for answering, I really enjoy how willing people are to help out with these and I've found gold nuggets of tips from you guys that have really helped me improve my game and I appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

hmm i have my index finger a little more above the rest. so there's a tiny gap between my index and the rest of my fingers (which are pretty much bunched together).

you don't need to drop the racquet physically unless you are rushed, let gravity do the work if you can

most pros would have a trigger grip and you will find you get a callous on the inside of your index finger where you use it against the racquet

it depends... check out the thread on it that is running at the moment

personal preference, its often a good idea to extend the wrist early so if you are rushed its in a solid position, no real harm in doing it
